I still think the only way to get him real ABs is to put him in LF.

Davey said the goal was to get Lombo 350 PAs this year in the majors.  I can see some sort of "rotate him through 2B -SS - LF once a week" plan working to get him 250 - 300 PAs, with the rest coming from PH and substitution opportunities.

As others have already pointed out Bud Norris is actually a respectable pitcher, but then again, JZimm isn't on the mound. I'm predicting runs today.

at least 1.  :)

Hopefully we get a repeat performance from Jackson, could be another 2-1/3-2 type game.  Norris pitched pretty well against us IIRC last year.

Why is Lombo at SS and not 2B?

Doesn't seem to have the arm for SS.

Davey doesn't seem convinced of this, but I think he said he wouldn't play Danny at short unless King Ian was hurt.

Just flip flop Danny and Lombo would seem to be the best defensive fit.

Davey on Lombardozzi at shortstop: "He's adequate. I've had a lot worse out there."

Putting Danny there would hurt the King's feelings, much better to hurt the team's defense instead.

I like this lineup, particularly Lombo batting leadoff, which is what I thought would be ideal during ST. Great lineup, and if Jackson pitches to form this season, we've got a great shot at the sweep tonight.

Occasional fill in for Zim at 3B too...

I still don't get why they don't try him in CF. He has the wheels, dudes.

We know what Ankiel gives us. Need to find out about Lombo.

I completely agree with you, but we can't even get him in LF much less center where he has never played.

You can't just stick people in CF and expect them to be able to field cause they are somewhat quick.

Lombo would be a disaster... and the coaches must not think much of his work in LF either if they haven't given him a shot to play with the dreck we've been running out there on a nightly basis.
