Nieves really hurt us this inning. Still, Olsen has to be able to pick up his teammate though. Maybe Nieves can make up for it with his bat.  :?

haha no chance in hell.  he's pathetic.

ight nice play dunn.  being down 3 really hurts against oswalt.  he made a mistake to dukes and elijah made him pay for it.  i don't think we'll be as lucky.

i just still don't understand why we can't get a better backup catcher than nieves.

Yep, if Nieves had just taken the out we could have gotten out of the inning with only 1 run given up.  Still, the walk Olsen issued to Berkman and the fastball right down the middle to Tejada didn't help the situation.

this one looks over.  thanks scott, thanks wil.
I can't really pin this one on Scott.  St. Claire seemed to chew out Nieves more than Olsen when he made his visit.

I think you guys are mixed up...  sportsfan doesn't care about Nieves.  It's Flores he's in love with.  I could be wrong.

Nieves is inept with the bat.

I hope our next manager never ever orders an intentional walk. Not ever.

Come now, there are some situations where it IS prudent.

My god the phone in the dugout should ring telling Manny he is fired. An intentional walk and now pinch hitting Cintron.

SF loves Nieves too. I think he said at one point ANY MLB team would be happy to have him.

I would have just let Olsen go out and stand there for three strikes.  Same result as sending Cintron out, and you might be able to squeeze one more inning out of Olsen.  Can't possibly be any worse than sending our pen out for 4 full innings.

I don't care I never again want to see it in my life. I don't care if you are walking a .400 hitter to pitch to a .110 hitter in the 9th with a runner on second and third, two outs, and a one run lead. It is just a principle thing at this point.

his error reminds me a lot of dukes error against the mets, where it really deflated these guys.  the one in ny could've been the third out, instead runs scored.  today, this would've retired the pitcher and put two outs on the board.  at least dukes had a couple hits that day.  nieves is pathetic.

Yeah he loves both but Flores is his biggest crush at catcher. However, his love for Nieves has cooled off a little so maybe it was just temporary infatuation and not genuine love.
