That should do it. The Rangers are better. The Caps' top players have been a huge disappointment.

The Caps know they can't get a puck past Lundqvist. No confidence, no energy, fans silent.

Looked like the Rangers were on a PP.    Caps are going tentative.

Right between Holtby's legs. Green falling down with no one around him. Classic Capitals meltdown.

Game 7 vs Pitt (2009) all over again. The Caps have lost all ability to do anything right. Every time they get a good opportunity offensively they throw the puck away.

Andddd of course the Caps are going to collapse to a team with no offense in a game 7. Every year, man. Every. Year.

I should really stop trying to be optimistic.

This team is like death. They were on such a good run and then the Rangers made adjustments after Game 2 and that was it. I blame Oates for a lot of it. His team wasn't able to adjust to what the Rangers were doing.

It's so frustrating. I'm almost convinced that this collection of core players will never do anything at this point. And it's not really feasible to shake things up at this point so we are stuck with this crap for at least another 5 years probably.

I don't think it has anything to do with coaching, I just think we got stone-walled by a good goaltender and got some really bad breaks in crucial moments at MSG. I don't think Torts did anything adjustment-wise, the Rangers just got a boost at home.

I can't blame bad luck. It seems like that's frequently the excuse when they gag it away every year. No reason they should have lost this series.

The guys just aren't scoring goals. I know they have generated chances but at the end of the day if you don't put it in the goal it really doesn't matter.

It's amazing how many great chances they have had only to squander away.

Oh, they deserve a lot of the blame. I just think they've had some bad breaks but have been able to overcome them.

This is the absolute worst-case scenario. Make the playoffs, sell off a good prospect for a solid player (luckily not a rental), lose in the 1st round.

ugh I forgot all about that too. We lost Forsberg for most likely nothing.

What a nightmare. Oh well, I guess this isn't as bad as the Nats' and Redskins' season ending playoff losses.

At what point do they try something new? Getting so tired of our d-men passing it to each other on the blueline just to take a shot that either gets blocked or goes wide.
