One good thing about super hot days is one pretty much has the CCT to yourself...people in Bethesda must be walking their dogs in Barnes & Noble.

If he did that in the Tour of Georgia a few years ago, I'm thinking the Big Boss Man would have had a special interrogation for him.

Pretty good start. Watched most of the prologue yesterday but was too doped up to remember any of it. Cadel Evans better get the DPO going if he wants to win.

My dark horse is one of the Omega Pharma riders - Levi or Chavanel.  I think they climb better than Cadel, and I think Wiggo and Cadel will shadow box and let them go on a hill stage.  Omega Pharma has been pretty good this year.

Tom Boonen == bad ass dude.  I still think Cadel will take the overall but who knows.  I do wonder who is going to test positive for DPO/PEDs first.

Looks like this is going to be a full 15 dal DL stint for me now that my ear is starting to finally open up.  Starting next Monday I'm going to start doing 25 miles a day. Time to start living up to my nickname - Suicidal.

Warm-up ride (read: < 10mph) today to the stadium.  Hearing is coming back but my ear is still clogged for all intensive purposes.  Should make for a fun time.

I don't think that's the wisest thing you've ever done. Your equilibrium should be thrown off, couple that with high heat & humidity and your courting disaster.

Drove over, made it through three innings and had to call it a day.  Thank sweet Jesus H Flores we didnt bike over.  Ear infections are a total fail.

Got in a nice 50 minute ride today, checking out the neighborhood tree damage.  Plenty of folks sporting the blue tarp of storm surrender.

Irregardless of that, at least you still have that deep seeded desire to ride.

Nice try by my dark  horse on stage 3, but Sagan kicks butt.  Even threw in a bike switch, just like in Cali.

I'm chopping at the bit to get back but I'm probably going to be on the DL for another week.  This ear infection has been terrible.

I like the guy that lost 45 seconds during a rear wheel switch.  Why they didn't just switch the bike out is beyond me.

Is that Team Lerner?

They definitely looked incompetent and were probably cheap.  To be Lerners they were missing the third characteristic but I won't mention what this is here...

Another TDF crashfest today.  I think Robbie Hunter has been in every crash of the race thus far.

I'm already pounding H2O for my ride home...piddly compared to what i just watched on TV, but 25 miles on a MTB in 100 degree heat is like a kick in the balls (especially with a steep uphill stretch at the very end).

Ouch, can't wait to watch the highlights tonight.  Wasn't Cadel Evans in the crash yesterday at the end of the stage?

I'm quite jealous of you man.  I'm getting a ride home with Mrs. Morse and will be off the bike for another week.  Just ordered this so that I'm set to ride in style once I'm off the DL:

The final crash today was just brutal.  Tyler Farrar went down hard right in front of Greipel (the guy who went on to win the stage shortly thereafter...after somehow recovering from having both feet out of the pedals).

Phil Liggett talking about Dave Zabriskie on the TdF today "he came up with this chamois cream to help soothe your sensitive areas called D Z Nuts.  Funny guy that Dave."

Looks like I'm good to go now. Ear is open, hearing is back to normal, balance is back, and the layoff seems to have not had much effect based on my 20 minutes of riding at lunch.  Heading out in the morning, hopefully my jersey will be here before I head out.
