Holy Hell, I remember every stinking moment of that 2009 team.

LOL seems like a lifetime ago

How about a million years ago?

I know what is meant by "feels like a lifetime" or "a million years" ago, but I hope this organization never EVER forgets 2009.  Fans of any team should never be subjected to that level of complete incompetence ever again.

Except Dallas Cowboy fans.

I'm sorry.

Lannan vs. Smoltz.  Beachball gave up a walk-off to Pujols.

Sigh...

I hope they clinch there so I can revisit the site and exorcise those demons.  That would be pretty sweet.

NL East Standings, July 27, 2008:

NYM 57 48 .543 -- 520 471 .545
PHI 56 49 .533 1.0 528 459 .564
FLA 55 50 .524 2.0 499 533 .470
ATL 49 55 .471 7.5 476 444 .532
WSN 38 67 .362 19.0 388 506 .381

Day's Results:  Nats lose 2-0 to LAD, loss #6 in a row of what would eventually be a 9 game losing streak.  Jason Bergmann loses to Clayton Kershaw.  That would be Jason Bergmann, currently a Camden Rivershark in the APBL.

I remember refusing to drive to DC to watch a live game, and even refusing to go to Shea with my daughter to see the Nats. Posted either here or a previous Nats fan board that the '08 and '09 teams were the worst Washington baseball teams in my lifetime, which included the mid-50's teams and the early '60s teams.

Who was that back up catcher that was SO bad that one game that Frank Robinson had to pull him mid inning? It really tore up Robinson too because he knew it was a big embarrassment for him.
Another question comes to mind now......who did he replace him with?!
(this is not a quiz, I don't know! )

He was last year.  He may be at Harrisbug now?

Yep, Matt "Beer Truck" LeCroy is at Harrisburg, and he made Frank cry after - I think - allowing 6 stolen bases in one game.

In his 39 games as a National, Matt LeCroy lost out on 20 of 21 stolen base attempts.

The Nats won that game.

The only baserunner Matt LeCroy threw out, in 21 tries, was Eric Reed.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but a couple friends and I went to a game at RFK and were going to get tickets there. Had a guy come up to us and gave us 5 free tickets. We figured they were fakes, but they actually worked.

The guy definitely was one of the sketchy scalper guys too, so that made us more uneasy about the whole thing.
