That didn't take long. Headley drops a routine soft line drive and then Chipper smokes a 2-out RBI Double. 1-0 ATL

Doesn't Sandoval let the ball bounce?

I don't see it... the GIF is fast, but I see a last-second palm-thwack.

As I watch it over and over, that palm thwack actually appears to propel the ball down, into the grass, and it bounds back up.

Medlen is amazing. He has impeccable command of all his pitches including a nasty two seamer, great low 80s changeup that gets swing and misses, and a buckling curve ball. And let's not forget his great pick off move. He's picked off 2 key runners already tonight.

I'm not worried about the Braves. There's still over a month of baseball left and unless we start playing much better we're toast.

If the Twins paid 3/4 of his salary.

We need some bullpen and outfield depth. How about Corey Brown, HROD, and Ramos for Capps and Willingham?

That I would agree with!  It seems catchers are a commodity because they are being run over or their hands are injured.  Then again Solano can come up in Sept.  Then again, how is he at throwing out runners?

Saw this on Talking Chop, had to laugh

Quote
It seems like, if we play 7 games a week —

1 Unprompted Barves Offense Day
1 Soft-Tossing Lefty Day
1 Dan Uggla Comes Up In All Key Situations and Strikes Out on Four Pitches Day
1 Sheets/Hanson Implode Day
1 Hit Liners Right At People the Entire Game Day

For the Indians-A's game, neither team is broadcasting the game locally so on MLB.tv, MLB.com is the "broadcaster".  For audio, they use the radio broadcast for the teams, alternating each half inning.

You just knew the Phillies would go belly up after sweeping the Nationals.  They lost the first two games of this Mets series and are losing 2-0 (on two solo homeruns) today.

This season, the Phillies have played the Nationals like their families have been kidnapped and are being threatened with death if they don't win.  They play with nothing close to this intensity against other teams.

Well, Werth was the one who said he would play spoiler on every dream of the Phillies Phans to celebrate on Broad Street or whatever. Now we're not the team poised to play spoiler -- they are.

Expect them to try and ensure that Werth will never be celebrating on K Street again.

That is so frustrating. The Phillies play like World Series contenders vs us but they play listless vs everyone else.

Seriously, guys, this is exactly how the Braves felt about the Nats the past 3 years.

...okay, here are the Baltimore Orioles, seemingly on their way to ending a decade and a half of losing seasons and getting back into the playoffs...playing a four-match home series against the current AL Central leaders the White Sox...here is the attendance for that series:

Monday - 10,955
Tuesday - 12,841
Wednesday - 13,098
Thursday - 10,141

Total for series - 46,235

...okay, that last one was the just-now-completed afternoon finale, and many people can't go to 'businessman's special' weekday afternoon matches...but seriously?

[Lowest Nats Park attendance this season to date was 14,520 for the Astros on Wednesday 18th April.]
