While I am with you, stomaching 102 losses of any kind sucks no matter how you slice it.  The difference is, typically a 3-2 puts you out of your misery in less time.

Not the way our guys play.

Also, in an 11-10 game, you think that your offense has a legit chance of outscoring them because, well, they scored 10 runs. But in a 3-2 game, the offense hasn't produced nearly as much so it's easier to take. In theory it's the same (other than the length), but for an actual fan you get more hope in a high scorer IMO.

I'm on the hammondsnats rose-colored bandwagon for tonight's game.  We'll beat Livan.

Yeah, I'm up for beating the "Livan" daylights out of the Mets too.

MetsBlog.com reports no Reyes, Church (both on DL) and no Beltran tonight (or tomorrow).  If we can't beat this Mets squad then there is no hope.

I'd rather lose a 3-2 game than an 11-10 game any day.
QFT.

decent pitching + weak offense > horrific pitching and + decent offense.

Fernando Martinez will make his long awaited debut for the Mets tonight. He will bat 6th and play RF.

Meh, I don't see much difference between the two situations.  Both are maddeningly frustrating for different reasons.

I'm with you. This season is just as frustrating as last season.

It's even more frustrating to me because we simply shouldn't be this bad with this roster.  The blown games in the first few weeks of the season was bad and things just snowballed from there. We reached the point beyond repair.

It's preached every year on here during the off-season how important it is for this team to get off to a solid start in April but it never happens. Not only do we not get off to a solid start we don't even get off to a mediocre start. We get off to these unbelievably horrific starts which are impossible to come back from. freak, I'd kill to be 8 games under .500 right now. :?

Who said anything about losing 10-11? With some of the young starters showing promise I think watching a game with good offense and decent SP that is blown by retread relievers is VASTLY more watchable than the travesties we fielded in previous years.  It makes me feel like we're much closer to having a complete team.

Actually, this season is probably moreso than last year since the offense was so much improved.  I don't think anyone expected the bullpen to be THIS bad.

this team doesn't know how to win.

The Padres have far worse talent than us and they just won 10 games in a row and are over .500 on the season. Their players have heart and know how to win.

IMO it hurts more because they can be winning, and they should be winning. Last season, I had all but given up on winning by June or so. This season, the team can win most games that they play.

11-10 games can and will happen a couple of times throughout the year, but we shouldn't be happening as often as they have in such a short period of the season.

I really don't understand why Bard is getting so many starts.

Maybe. I really don't mind Bard, but Nieves is actually hitting well right now.
