If Shawn Hill (2-3, 3.00 ERA) is going to help the Nationals snap the skid, he'll need more help from the offense. The right-hander has not received a run of support in two home starts this season - including a loss to Florida on April 3 - and only got three in his last start on Sunday while holding Chicago to two runs in six innings of a 4-3, 10-inning defeat.

"I feel bad for those guys. They are going out there and pitching their tails off every day and we are not getting them any runs," Nationals right fielder Austin Kearns said. "They are doing all that they can. When you are giving up one, two, three runs per night, that's not going to get it done, as we have seen. They have been great; we haven't."

Olsen will try to get Florida's 10-game road trip off to a positive start after losing for the first time in four outings Sunday despite a solid performance. The left-hander surrendered two runs - one earned - and four hits over 6 2-3 innings of a 3-1 loss to San Diego.

The Marlins look to get him more support as they attempt to build on a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, won on a walkoff homer by Josh Willingham .

Two straight full-count outs, and the Marlins are gone in order.

the game thread, like RFK, is near empty tonight. Hopefully the Nats will start a little winning streak and that will change.

Did you hear what the umpire hollered after getting hit by the ball?

Lopez could've been more patient in that at bat.

I didn't catch it.

And Felipe hits a deep fly ball.  He's our power guy now I guess

Good question. I guess they don't look cool enough. But they were at least much more protective, which as far as I'm concerned was more important than looking good.

Guzman with a slap hit up the middle.  I'm really liking him so far; he's not getting overmatched by anyone.

Yeah he yelled GD out loud. Lopez had a 2-0 count and swung at ball three.

Hit by Zimmerman.

Love the fact that Hill's sinker is working early. Attendance may pick up later.

A quick groundout to begin the second, and a good start for Hill.

Hill's breaking ball looks fabulous also. It's fooling the batters. Of course the Marlins do strike out a lot.
