Pudge puts on a clinic again tonite. Gotta love the guy!

Really? He's avoiding the inside corner like the plague. I know Livo doesn't top 85... but you can't ignore a 1/3 of the plate.

He knows that Ump isn't giving him the inside part of the plate. Thats all I can figure. The clinic is on the punch out at 2nd.

3rd   B DeWitt homered to right.

Cubbies   1
Nationals  0

Lou Piniella turned down the Nationals' manager job before going to the Cubs.  He already announced that he'd retire at the end of this season.  My guess is that he cleared his abrupt departure with the management, who probably figured it wouldn't change the W-L record much anyway.

This is going to be a short night for Livo. I'm assuming we'll be seeing quite a bit of Batista tonight

What in the world is wrong with Livo? Did he borrow Bally's glove? :run:

Just kidding, those are two of my all-time favorite Nats.

Merge 'em with the Pirates or Orioles.

This team keeps rolling over for teams with worse records than us. Baltimore? Kansas City? Cleveland? Houston? Cubs?

Leave Livo in.   Let him "eat some innings".  :)

Honestly, they should do that. No need to waste the bullpen when a loss counts the same whether its 15-1 or 2-1.
