When's the best time to get tickets on the day of game? I've gotten burned before and arrived after tickets have been sold out. Though to get the college student discount I have to buy the tickets day-of.

Is an hour usually enough or should I get there earlier? (I'm usually looking at the 300-400 level seats).

The cheap seats sell out quick for popular games so the best thing to do is gauge the demand for each particular game.  If hundreds of tickets are available on StubHub for under $10 on the afternoon of the game you are probably going to be fine getting there an hour early, if the cheapest seats are over $10 I'd get there a couple hours early.

You can also check the JR2012 code for discounted tickets to print at home.

I don't think tickets should be that difficult to get - we haven't broken 30k at a Mets weeknighter (Monday-Thursday) at Nats Park since 2008 (best we've done since then under such circumstances is 23,944 on Wednesday 29th September 2009, and that was our home finale).

Rather a change from the way things used to be - remember back in RFK days when it was the Mets, not the Phillies, who used to pack out our home matches with opposition fans? The Phillies didn't really become a scourge till after they won the Series in 2008.

OC, where is that attendance thread that you keep? I find it fascinating but not enough to keep track of it apparently.

What time do parking garages open on game days?  Or are they open all day?

No, they are not open all day.

I believe they open same time the stadium entrance gates open ... two hours before game time ... ?

Don't they keep the actual physical tickets on call there?

I was thinking the same thing, they'd have to scan the tickets and then reprint them at the other site,

They should do what Wolf Trap does ... print the tickets on the fly.

(Though I do believe W/T does pre-print them for Will Call.)

Don't they keep the actual physical tickets on call there?  If so, it would be problematic to have more than one location.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Thanks, just found this site.

You can also check the JR2012 code for discounted tickets to print at home.

Wow, the code on a few "non-prime" games I tried. I'll definitely use it to get some seats! Though I'm going to have to put some money aside for games next year. I'm thinking about possibly investing in quarter season tickets (I think it has 20 games?) though I'd be pretty lonely going by myself. Maybe I can find someone to do it with me by next summer  :D

Thanks, PowerBoater

No problem.

I highly recommend buying a single 20 game ticket plan.  You get just about all of the perks of being a full season ticket holder for a very low price ($230).  Then you can use your reward points and trade in games so that you aren't going alone.  For for info you can search for my comments in the 2012 Renewals thread or wait until September when the details for the 2013 plans are released.

Quick Question about parking - the meters around the stadium. As the costs of other lots has risen, have the meters costs risen as well?

Can someone tell me what the meter charge is on a game day?

Pretty outrageous.  I paid $.50 the other day for an hour (I needed 35 minutes) and had to walk two blocks further than the $17 lot across So. Capitol St.  They fill up fast however.

When is the team going to put up pictures in the frames above the urinals that have been empty for the past couple years?  When the ballpark opened there were ads to be a cop in Arizona and to purchase ticket plans.  Given a choice I always picked a spot where I could look at the picture of the chick from the Nats Pack.  The next year it was noted on the message boards and blogs that the pictures had not been updated and they contained players no longer on the team so instead of updating the photos they were taken down.  So for the past couple seasons we've had brown cardboard backing to look at, which really indicates the level of thought going into the fan experience at Nats Park, if it is not revenue generating it is forgotten.  Wonder when the last time a Lerner stepped in a bathroom that was not in the owners suite.

Here is a picture from the Cards/Marlins spring training bathroom, pretty cool stuff for a urinal, all I'm asking for is a Curly W, or pictures of the players, or better yet player stats coming into the game for each team.

(Note: one of these days I'm going to get motivated an print up my own pictures to slip into the frames, I have a feeling that team management would prefer to choose their own pictures to display.)

I waited too long to print up my own pictures to decorate the bathrooms as the Nats finally took down the picture frames over the urinal after leaving them empty for two seasons.

How lame (or not lame!) should the post game fireworks be on July 3rd? I am thinking about buying tickets for me and my sister that day if they'll be any good.

They're not as awesome as the one's on the Mall on the 4th but they're usually pretty good, plus you get to see a baseball game, what's not to like

The fireworks shows have always been pretty decent.  You'll want to get to the third-base side of the park after the game for the best views.

Nah, i'll given up my secret firework watching spot since it isnt like thousands will read this post... The sidewalk across the street from the first base gate. Walk down towards the Yards parking lot a bit, and near the brick sewer authority building. You don't get the music played, but the fireworks are insanely beautiful from there and incredibly close.

My spot for watching the fireworks has always been in my rear view window as I haul ass out of town with nobody else on the road.

While I haven't done it, I'd like to see the fireworks from POV at the W on of these years. I guess I should start looking for six friends willing to spend at least 140 each. Anybody been to Boom with a view?

So can you only take sealed water bottles in? What about containers like Clean Canteens? I see them around the park. Are people just filling them up at water fountains?

The rule is sealed water bottles, but enforcement is mixed.
