Pittsburgh came out of the penalty kill and kicked the Caps' ass.

And they give it right back.

I'm starting to wonder if Holbty was a result of the defense last post-season

He was helped by the defense, but he's still a good goaltender.

Neuvirth should have started today.

Don't blame Holtby for this.. The defense is a joke. All of them

And this team can't shoot on offense. Fumble, whiff, etc.  Awful.

Two of those goals went under his arm with a clear view  ...   and the D sucks.

"@JapersRink: John Carlson has now been on the ice for more goals-against (20) than 11 teams have allowed so far this season."

What sucks is that Ovechkin actually has played well today (and the last few games), but just isn't getting the results right now. He'll get all the blame, though.

The PP needs a shakeup, watching other teams move their big scorers around the zone depresses me.

Fire McPhee, hire Brian Burke, semi-rebuild mid-season as this team isn't that far away. Just needs a complete change of management, though I like Oates and would like  him to stay and get a real chance.

None of this will happen because Ted does not care.

Only nine years left on his contract, then they can cut salary, bottom out and build again via the draft.

Mini-rebuild. Keep most of the team as there's still a lot to work with here. Ovechkin, Green, Alzner, Backstrom, Hendricks, Beagle, Crabb, Brouwer, Ribiero, Erskine and Ward can stay. The goaltenders, etc. are trade bait. Just need a management/philosophy change.

Alzner stinks. Crabb is minor league caliber.

Ovechkin, Green, and Backstrom are overrated and overpaid.

Ok, genius, we'll trade the entire team. Ok. Because that can happen.
