For any other runner it would have been a decent gamble with 1 out but he's just sooooo slow.

For what it's worth, Cubs announcers said Soriano often tries to make that play but usually ends up making a bad throw and ending up letting the guy on first get to second.  So maybe the Nats were told to run on him. :shrug:

I was just looking at some splits...

I know he has made only limited at bats ~130, but he has horrible splits at home.  Anyone have a reason, other than coincidence? 

Home: .196  .262   .268   .530
Away:  .342  .405   .671  1.076

Has anyone ever platooned based on Home/away splits?

Could be it.  Morse is as slow as a mid-afternoon bowel movement, though.
