I think this includes tonight's game.  I believe his K/W ratio has been improving lately, which is probably the biggest thing at this point, given the concern about his wildness.

Player       W      L   ERA   G   GS      IP     H     R   ER   HR   HB    BB    SO  WHIP
Alex Meyer    2   3   4.36    9   9   43.1    38   21   21   2    2          19   52   1.32

Overall, I think its pretty impressive. The issue with a guy that size is repeating the delivery, which effects command. While you want the walks to come down a bit still over time, this is a solid place to start. He's K'ing more than a guy per inning, and has a 2.5/1 K/BB ratio.

If you take out the one horrible outing he had, his ERA drops a full run. Solid start IMO. Some work to be done, but definitely encouraging.

Meyer is the real deal. I think he has big time potential at the big league level.

If just or of giolito, purke, or meyer live up to their potential, then that would be great.  If 2 do it, then :az:

Very encouraging to see. Would like to see him bumped to Potomac in July.

yup.  i really have high hopes for this kid (especially since we parted ways with A.J. Cole).  He has the stuff, it's just a matter of trusting it.  So far so good.

Here's a nice write-up on MILB.com about the :az: shutout.

Kind of surprised he's the only Nats rep, but still awesome to see him go!  It's a great honor.

Unfortunately, the injury bug has gotten us. Definitely could've seen Solis, Rendon, and Goodwin there if they weren't slowed down by injuries. Goodwin was off to a great start before his injury, then took a bit to get back into a rhythm when he returned. Had he not gotten hurt, he's probably in Potomac right now and named to the squad.

Good to see Alex land a spot.

Great to see Meyer in the futures game.  I see him at a 3-4 starter level pitcher in 2015.  There might be only 1-2 others on the US roster at the same level as he (low A).

Hate to be the sour puss here, but we have a serious lack of international talent in the farm.  Not a single rep on the Int Futures roster ... not only that, outside of E Perez (and maybe Smiley at one time), I can't think of a single international home grown MLB prospect anywhere in the orginzation at any time since moving to DC.  I wonder what Rizzo's plan for developing the teams international presence will be over the next 5 years, because right now there doesn't seem to be one.

Roger Bernadina, Atahulpa Severino and we traded Jonathan Albaladejo for Clippard. But yeah I see what your saying. This article from Kilgore was encouraging: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/post/nationals-eyeing-dominican-prospects-gustavo-cabrera-wendell-rijo/2012/06/06/gJQAmLyXJV_blog.html

It's funny that he was kind if the forgotten guy from that draft between Rendon Purke and Goodwin, even my new favorite prospect skole seems to get more attention

They signed a kid last year (?), Raudy Read a catcher... who's showing some pop in the DSL this year.

Although he's only hitting .212, he's tied for the league lead in HR's with 5... and he makes contact with only a 8.5% K%.
