Braves need more offensive consistency behind prado
defense is okay
starting pitching is doing well, hudson lights out, jurrjens coming back
project braves 94-68, 1st place

Mets overachieved offensively, Wright back to form, SP gets a plus grade, Santana terrific, Pelfrey great, Dickey "tremendous find", Takahashi good adjustment, bullpen not as good as previous seasons, K-Rod not the same, 3rd place, 85-77 - Mets need another legit starter, need an impact pitcher at the trade deadline

Phillies, injuries & inconsistencies, 5th in the league in runs, should be better, good defensively, starters have done well enough, 6th in the league in ERA and QS, bullpen has struggled, 1st place, 94-68

Marlins - mediocre, bad defense, built around a young pitching staff, starters middle of hte road, JJ tops, good bullpen, C grade overall, 80-82 finish, 4th, need to improve defense

Nationals, should be better, defense holds them down, pretty good offense, not great.  starting could be better but defense hurts, bullpen big improvement over last year.  C+ grade, finish 80-82, 4th place.  Zimmermann coming back.

Orioles get an F.

Concerned about lack of improvement of young players.

"Good news" they'll probably get the first pick in the 2011 draft.

Yep, they ripped the Orioles to shreds.

"They said they're following the Rays roadmap to success...  well if so, somebody get them a GPS!"

Yeah... that was by far the most critical review they did of any team.

All minuses. Then kicked sand in their face with the playing in October comment.

MLB Tonight is great for people who don't have Extra Innings. I have Extra Innings, so I have no need for it, but it is a very cool show nonetheless.

It seems like a free analog to NFL Redzone.

I desperately miss the MLB Network.  We had to cut back on some of our extra stuff so we downgraded our television viewing package and lost the MLB Netowrk in the process.

I had a similar "issue" several years ago.   Wife lost her job so we had to cut back.   I suggested we eliminate her Diet Coke allowance and keep the DirecTV Sunday Ticket.    I miss seeing the Steelers every week but I've taken to drinking Diet Coke with my rum when I mix it.

The NFL Sunday Ticket was the breaking point.  I told my wife I'd turn tricks if I had to.  She let me keep that but I had to drop the MLB Network.

As an out of area Steelers' fan, I would have turned tricks too.   I'm old and ... well ... ya know what I'm sayin'?   LOL

We may be switching, and I'm curious - is either MLB or NFL Network on FiOS?

And NBA, and NHL, and CBS College Sports, and all 5 big ten overflows, and SNY and YES, etc, etc, etc. The channel lineup is staggering.

they're airing a special on Ricky Henderson.  I didn't realize he was such a beast.  He's what Nyjer Morgan wants to be.  At the very beginning Ricky says if you want to be a great base stealer you've got to "eliminate the fear".  Oh, and have incredible talent doesn't hurt either.  Morgan definitely doesn't have any fear.  He just doesn't have the talent.

I'd rather have Rickey in RF with Werth in CF right now, over Morgan out there.

And no, I'm not joking.

Rickey would put up a .350+ OBP right now.

They did a session with him on Diamond Demos that was pretty interesting.
