For more good news from the farm, Ayala pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Bergmann allowing one walk. Fruto had one inning of work and gave up one earned run. Watson extended his hitting streak to 41 and is one shy of the record.

GREAT NEWS!

CB Buckner has left the field???  Being replaced behind the plate - probably shamed off the field for losing count of balls and strikes ...

C.B. Bucknor is a freaking joke of an umpire.  If I was an MLB official and saw this game I would fire him on the spot.

wow .. did you see Halliday's reaction to the error? I mean rios should have had it and all but wow ...

I'm old school so I don't mind a little negative emotion.

Just thinking the same thing (great minds think alike)

If you knew me better you would recant that statement  :?

Maybe the guy has been suffering from a bout of vertigo which is why he lost track of the count...on the other hand he may be using this 'injury' to prevent a demotion and remain on salary (I think players do that from time to time).  ;)

How do you do a game with three umpires?  And what happens if someone else gets sick?

BTW, the closest Valero station is 35 miles away in Walkersville, Md. Their web page says they are the largest refiner in North America.

Also, looks like they decided Kimnat is right and they're pulling the home plate ump!

Isn't "illness" code for 'had Mexican for lunch and is battling diarrhea'?

So you had to find out more about them huh? Nice work saltydad.

If someone else gets sick the game could possibly be postponed. As it is the umpires will have to do a lot of hustling to work this game.

Not for a while with the little effort he's had to put out.

Bummer!  Looks like Berg will be the first back at this rate.  JP not performing great tonight and Hill still a ways off in returning.

Down 3-0 against Roy?  The sooner Bacsik leaves this game, the better.  walks Gregg Zaun, that's awful

Not quite yet .... but this is likely Bascik's last inning - if he gets through it - our pen is going to get a workout tonight ...
