Squeegeeing the OF grass. RF and CF are "No Wake" zones. Jellyfish warnings up in LF.
Home team makes the decision on the series opener, or is it the crew? Anyway, I'll be up late, this is great news.
Yeah, I thought you'd remember. He didn't know something was in it. His cast was his avatar for awhile.
I remember when the Nats had a couple of Lonnnnnnng rain delays. One was the last game of the season at Nats Park. The other was when we played SF and Randy Johnson was supposed to get his 300th win. Both times, I waited between 3 to 4.5 hours!
Actually, when last series in a stadium between the teams, the umps make that call.
Remember that Phillies sloshfest that started at about 11:30 p.m.? I suppose that must have been back at RFK, and right towards the end of the season.
Charlie's messages to the affiliates are being sent over MLB Audio
Huh?
Thanks, I knew you would know.
3.10(a) The home team shall be the sole judge as to whether a game shall not be started because of unsuitable weather conditions or the unfit condition of the playing field, except for the second game of a doubleheader. EXCEPTION: Any league may permanently authorize its president to suspend the application of this rule as to that league during the closing weeks of its championship season in order to assure that the championship is decided each year on its merits. When the postponement of, and possible failure to play, a game in the final series of a championship season between any two teams might affect the final standing of any club in the league, the president, on appeal from any league club, may assume the authority granted the home team by this rule.
Actually, a correction. The league president makes the call under rule 3.10 (a):The NL has made the permanent authorization. I believe the AL has as well.
See, I thought it was the home team
"Attention please Nationals Radio Network affiliates. We have an estimated start time of 10 o clock."
just checking in tonight, are they going to play?
Yep, up until the final series in each stadium. Frankly, I wish they'd always give it to the umps. If the Braves have an unfavorable match-up, they are notorious for starting games, knowing that it will be halted within 30 minutes to an hour, hoping to knock out the opposing pitcher.
