Yep.

I will apparently get to see this "Freak of Nature" in Houston (if lover boy is right). Perhaps my skepticism will fade. Or not.

Correct. Forgot about AK's horrible error.

2 ER. That first run was earned.

He said "instead" not in sequence. had he given up a walk INSTEAD of a bomb he would've gotten out of that innings unscathed.

Oh, I see.  He must have been referring to Chico needing to throw strikes, and that he would rather see Chico get hit than walk batters.  However, that's a little extreme of a statement

Yeah that was my bad. I wrote "then" when I meant "than".

No not sure but I it depends on the official scorer. I would've scored it an earned run but I'm not the official scorer  We'll have to check later. If the official scorer saw it like you did and that Zimmerman could've held the runner at 3rd then unearned. If he saw it like me then earned.

When you have a big lead throwing strikes is most important.  You just want to "put the ball on a tee" and let them hit it as opposed to giving them a free pass.  Even when they make contact you have a 60-70+% chance of recording an out.

We let Maholm off the hook big time today.  He should have been knocked out of the game by now.

Then the official scorer believed that at least one of the grounders would've prevented the runner from advancing.

We couldn't even knock a long reliever starter out of the game much less get a win against him yesterday. No way we were going to knock this guy out of the game although we have knocked him around a bit.

I agree with that scorer.  Both of those balls were hit to the left side too.

I can see the first one maybe holding the runner. I guess Chico will take it. :?

Fine with me. He needs to go down to AAA to work out his issues. Who replaces him though?

The problem is that we have no one ready to come up to fill in.

OR

in dukes first month as a national he's batting .280, 6 homers, 20 RBI, and 5 stolen bases!

FREAKISH AND AMAZING!

Realistically, Bergmann is next in line but he is going to need at least a couple more starts to show he deserves it.

Right. Despite what some people think, Balester is not ready unless you want to see him come up here and walk 4-5 batters and only last 4 innings.
