Just walk him

That's why you don't walk.

1 out.

Why, a walk is the worst thing he could do with a three run lead

Because just about every other time Valdespin has pinch hit against the Nats, he's crushed a home run

We are in the middle of an awesome winning month. You don't stop the way you've been playing because of a pinch hitter.

Are you talking to me?

My post was half in jest, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was beginning to get sore again. It's been way more than a month.
Zimmerman smoked the ball today wtf you talking about.

A home run is no worse than a walk in this situation.

So bench Ian Desmond. Got it.

A three run lead in the ninth, the 4th and 5th run can't score without getting him past home plate.   Makes no difference if he is on first or already home.. Other than the chance of being able to double him up, which is pretty low when we're likely to give him 2nd base for free anyway.   Put the ball into play and it's something like a 2 thirds chance of getting him out.   Walk him and you have no chance of an out.

5.0 game lead now is huge. Braves are going to be disappointed with anything less than a sweep.

Good game today.  I was on the road in the miserable weather coming back from Tidewater and got the game on the radio and was able to listen to most of it.  It's huge that the Braves lost too.  Now, no matter what happens the next three games, we'll still be in first at the end of the upcoming series.  A sweep would give us a huge eight game lead.  Let's go Nats!

I was able to follow the game on Gameday, and I'll be watching the highlights tomorrow. What a game! I am hoping this is the start of Harper's bat getting hot.

I absolutely cannot wait for tomorrow's game. I am extremely excited and I think that we truly have a chance to stomp the Braves. I doubt we can sweep them (but I can dream!) but we can sure show them who's the best team in the whole MLB.
