I guess, but it's not like he's some old, warn out guy.
He pitched two innings last night.  4 innings in 2 days is a lot.

What does Leonard Davis look like? I can't help but picture the Cowboys LG when I read his name.

the great thing aboot baseball is you don't have to be a can't miss prospect ... look @ lannan.

davis has a pretty darn good k/bb ratio this season.  kid should get a look.

He also pre-dates the Nationals(drafted by the Expos in 2004).  just a random tidbit.

i think that's why he was overlooked.  the Bowden/Lerner/Kasten regime was too busy hyping up their own draft picks and bemoaning the state of the farm system that Davis slipped under the radar.

but that's just my own crazy conspiracy theory.

Bernadina is not going anywhere. Bowden and the brain trust believe the best way to develop him is to "expose him to the Majors long term".

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080709&content_id=3101716&vkey=news_was&fext=.jsp&c_id=was

Quote
Roger Bernadina started his Major League baseball career the way most dream -- lacing a single into right field for his first big league hit. It's been a rough going since then for the young center fielder, now in his second week with the Nationals.

Bernadina has tallied just five hits in 34 at-bats -- a .147 average -- and committed an error in center field that allowed a run to score in the Nationals' 2-0 loss to Arizona on Tuesday.

Still, Nationals general manager Jim Bowden said Wednesday he's not worried about his young center fielder. He said the Nationals expected to deal with some growing pains while developing Bernadina in the Majors. He was forced to make the leap from Double-A to the big leagues after Lastings Milledge sustained a right groin injury at the end of June.

"We jumped him from Double-A, that's a big jump," Bowden said. "A lot of times, we all sit there and go, 'Let's just bring up all the kids and let them all play.' Well, when you put them over their heads, there's negativity you don't always like."

Bowden said Bernadina has had bright spots, including his 2-for-3 performance against Cincinnati last weekend and some great defensive plays he's made. The Nationals GM said the club knows they'll have to take some time to develop their young talent, and they are willing to be patient with players they think have bright futures.

"We've just gotta be patient with him and give him love," Bowden said. "There's going to be growing pains. We had to grow with Milledge and [Elijah] Dukes."

Bowden said the Nationals have determined the best way to develop Bernadina is to expose him to the Majors long term, as opposed to players like Garrett Mock and Tyler Clippard, who the club brought up for spot starts in the first half of the season, but then sent back down to Triple-A.

"We have to look at each guy and calculate the best way to develop them," Bowden said. "We spend a lot of time and man-hours analyzing each guy and what needs to happen."

Petit warming up for the D-Backs.

Know how they got him?  Another Beinfest Classic.  The Fish trade him away for Jorge Julio.

HAHA Collin Balester is a stud.  Hysterical on Mic'd up.  Lannan - Casto - Balester are all friends and Casto/Balester have been funny as hell when being mic'd up.

Nice game for Kory. RBI Walk, RBI Double, and an infield single.

Yeah he looks older than most of the minor leaguers. AZ is going to drool over him.

Alright Walnuts and Wily No should never start again this year.  Kory has proven himself, and Jesus is back.

That's something that has been brought up but I doubt they explore that option.

Like I said earlier, they were using him tonight at Center and I doubt he will be playing much in the infield for the next coming weeks since it has suddenly became crowded with the call up of Matt Rogelstad.  I do not see them using him much at 2B, another plus to carry him on the roster in September, though.
