Capuano lasted just 3 1/3 innings in his last outing -- his first start since coming off the disabled list. He labored throughout but did a good job of limiting the damage done by defensive mistakes. He didn't let the game get out of hand in the third, allowing just one run to score after two errors loaded the bases with no outs.

In his first Major League game since 2005, Redding lasted five innings, while giving up three runs against the Cubs. Redding acknowledged that he was too pumped up at the start of the game and it showed in the first inning as the Cubs took a 1-0 lead. After Alfonso Soriano singled and stole second base to start the game, Ryan Theriot singled to score Soriano. Redding would retire the next three batters. Redding would give up two more runs before his night was over.
