Yeah, he just drove Soriano's price up - good job Jim.

BTW- finally a GD hit.

Will someone give the rundown on what JimBo is saying?

I've been cursed with the Cards/Cubs game down here in NC.

How in the heck did you get THAT game - you're in Braves AND Nats territory!!!

First off, I've never seen Bowden in an interview but he comes off like a used-car salesman.  Definitely not down-to-earth.  Some of what I can remember:

*Explained that Soriano was not going to sign with the Nats if he was traded, and they didn't get more than 2 draft picks offered, hence why Alfonso remains a Nat.
*Talked about Soriano becoming the only player to have 20 outfield assists, 40 homers and 30 SB's - sounded very cheesey and desperate to create some buzz about the team.  The announcers said that Bowden should be Soriano's agent
*Stated the new ballpark would be ready for Opening Day 2008.
*Had a brain-fart talking about the Nationals becoming "America's Team".
*Said the keys to building a winner starts with the farm system, then pitching and defense.  No sh*t Sherlock.
*Bragged about signing a 16-y/o prospect from the Dominican Republic over all of the major-market teams (wait, isn't DC a major market?)

That's about all I can remember -  if I could say one thing he's not, its modest.

Frenchy pops up about halfway down the first base line, NJ comes down the line, about a foot in foul territory.  NJ is looking up the whole time, Frenchy is running down the line, makes no attempt to avoid Nick and they bump shoulders.   Nick goes down for a few moments.  Hope he's alright.

"America's Team"?!?!?!

Is he implying that America is full of losers or is he saying he can't wait for Dallas Cowboy football?

Bowden is suffering delusions of grandeur- how can he say he's going to have America's Team when Richmond residents can't even watch the team on cable.

I assume Nick is out just because Frank is sitting his starters?

No. Frank got plowed over by Francoeur on the last out of last inning. Was so dirty

When Fick was a Brave, in the 2003 NDLS, he tried to injure Cubs 1B Karros (and was fined $25,000 for his efforts).  If he can hit the ball, maybe he can get some revenenge on his old team.

Why Grybowksi was called up I'll never understand.  The guy is washed up.  Last time up here, he sucked big time.

When your ERA is 12.27   , a two run homer is probably expected.
