Why is Guzman batting 2nd again?

to help him learn to be a more patient batter??? He needs to take some more pitches to give Morgan time to work the steal.

crappy lineup.

I can't freaking believe they think they can get something for Belliard. Hernandez hasn't started a game since before the All-Star break.

Johnson 5th? wtf

Guzman 2nd? He's 8 for his last 65!! He should be batting 8th if they insist on starting him.

Nieves kicks ass yesterday at the plate and defensively and he gets benched again. smart move

Luckily I have a game tonight so instead of watching this disaster, I'll be participating in one of my own.

Honestly?  What can it hurt to switch Zimmerman and Johnson?  Really?

Such optimism is rarely seen on this board.

Weather's good and hope, yet again, springs eternal.
Looking forward to seeing us take 2 in a row!
Let's go Nats!!!

I feel bad now that I teased Galah about his Guzman jersey - I have a feeling Guzman will have a multi-hit game

Don't worry, I'll live
NJ says
"Cristian Guzman is in the No. 2 spot, where he's hitting .355 (22-for-62) this year. Guzman is 4-for-28 (.143) in the No. 6 spot"

Meaningless stat if I've ever seen one.

It will hurt the feelings of Zimmerman and his cult followers.

Holliday is currently rated 52nd in VORP, or +23.6, vs. Willingham's 61st, or +21.6.  However, Holliday has 392 PA's vs. only 249 for Willingham so it's clear that Josh has been the more productive hitter when in the lineup vs. Holliday.

61st - call ME crazy or wouldn't that rank him as a top hitter?

Obviously Dunn > Willingham, but hell, let's keep them both.

Now why don't you tell sportsfan how many spots behind Jesus Flores Roger Bernadina is.

I'd say choose 2 of 3: Dunn, Willingham, and Johnson.

Exactly. I hate how whenever someone says something about someone being better than a superstar or having a better year everyone freaks out....
