And GUUUZ singles!

This is getting faintly ridiculous.  He's become our most clutch and productive hitter!  And not in a pathetic "he sucks too but we're that bad" way, either!  He's actually getting a ton of significant hits and RBIs all of a sudden.  And taking walks.

How friggin' bizarre.

Is that the first base hit Gary Bennett has had all year?  Sure seems like it.

You know, last's night game was so demoralizing that it made me forget that

a.) we're still in it.
b.) we have a chance to take the series.
c.) we can end up 5 for 6 on this road trip, which is excellent.

So let's get some friggin' RBIs and hold on, what say??

Sounds like they're saying "CNS" when they pronounce that pitcher's name

Rick Short should be pinch hitting here, not Vidro.

This game reminds of me our 1-0 win in Anaheim...  and somehow it feels every bit as important

I haven't been able to bring myself to listen or watch.  After last night I'm a bit wincey.  I'm following it on gameday.  That way if it all falls apart I can just quietly read about the disaster as opposed to having to hear it unfold in all its rotten splendor a la last night.

Man, can I mention again how much that game sucked?  All I wanted for my birthday was for the Nats to win.  So long as it WAS my birthday (aka the 17th) things were fine and I was getting what I wanted.  But the second the clock struck midnight the carriage turned back to a pumpkin.

We need to get the lead back NOW so the Chief can close it out.  If we go into the bottom of the 9th still tied, this game is over, no matter how many innings we stretch it out.

As soon as the Padres take the lead, I'm switching back to football.
