and when you REALLY think about it...zimmerman's .226 average isn't THAT bad. he'll get it to .275 by the all star break.

i mean the "expert" nicky j is batting .239.

Your mother had to have dropped you when you were a child...which means probably yesterday.

a string of nice games and the z-man will have his average to .250 in no time and then keep on climbing.

BTW, have you looked at Nick Johnson's OBP? It's hovering at .400.

OBP >>>>>>>>> Avg

He's too good to be playing this poorly. Hitting .250, or even .275, won't cut it. He's needs to step it up. He's not a ML baby anymore. That can no longer be an excuse.

He hasn't shown me anything to believe he'll get that average to where it SHOULD be - somewhere between .280 and .295. His OBP should be close to .400. He swings at more pitches out of the zone than anyone and for all the talk of how "clutch" he is, it seems like he never gets a clutch hit anymore.

this early in the season, a .226 average isn't that catastrophic. he WILL step it up. people are overreacting. it's like you're gonna completely throw out what he's done for us the past 2 years because of some measly early season slump. he'll hit .275 by the all star break, and finish around .285-.290, book it.

btw, w/o zimmerman we would be 3-17.

No "star" should ever be hitting .226 at this point unless they're great power hitter.

You can't call that a fact. He's the #3 hitter and has left WAY too many people on-base this season. You can't assume that everyone else would have done the same.

are you really questioning zimmerman's abilities in the clutch? c'mon now, that's ludicrous.

keep doubting zimmerman...he will prove you all wrong.

it's pretty sad when our bona fide face of the franchise has to prove that he's a "star" to you fair weather "fans".

you guys are suppose to support zimmerman through the good and the bad. through the walk-offs and the slumps.
