If southern tier dialed back the spices or upped the alcohol content, it would be fine, it's just so much flavor that you might as well be drinking a pumpkin flavored wine cooler

Friend of mine just tweeted that Southern Tier Pumking "tastes like candy corn, and not in a good way." He liked Wasatch better. Any of y'all tried that?

there must be two versions.  your friend's encounter seems similar to mine. I thought banana runts,  not pumpkin pie

He has to drive, officer. He's too drunk to walk.

A guy was in a bar about as drunk as it's possible to get.     Certainly too drunk to drive.

A group of guys notice his condition and decide to be good Samaritans and take him home.

First they stand him up to get to his wallet so they can find out where he lives, but he keeps falling down. He fell down eight more times on the way to the car, each time with a real thud.

After they get to his house, he falls down another four times getting him to the door.

His wife comes to the door, and one guy says, "We brought your husband home."

The wife asks, "Where's his wheelchair?

I'm drinking Epic Spiral Jetty IPA ($3.99 for a 650 ml bottle at Whole Foods on Duke Street) while dinner (crispy Parmesan-crusted catfish) is in the oven. Good stuff, especially for the price. Very amusing to find a good beer from Utah, of all places!

Is it 3.2%?

6.6% per the label.
Cool  ...   used to go to Utah (skiing, basketball, etc.) in the 70s and you had to buy anything higher than 3.2 in a "liquor" store.   Believe it or not, I used to pack a case of Heineken into my carry-on luggage to take out west.   Can you imagine trying that now?   :)

Heh. I was born in Fort Hood and we lived in Copperas Cove (Robert Griffin's hometown). I don't remember it because we moved to Virginia when I was 1. But anyway, my father says that all the relatives came to Texas for my baptism and he had bought a bunch of Coors beer, which in 1973 was a Very Big Deal because their market was limited (much like New Belgium until the last year or two). Dad says he bought about five cases of Coors......and stored them in the garage. Mind you, I was born in late May and baptized on Fathers Day. So the beer sat out there for a good while......now, what happens to beer in the Texas summer?!

Around the same time, I think you could only get Coors west of the Mississippi.    First Coors I ever drank was in Utah and it was 3.2.    :P

Make it a Saturday or Sunday game so I can join you guys. I'll bring some Jack Daniels Honey and I'll have the wife whip up some BBQ pulled pork.

Full Nelson is from Blue Mountain Brewery, Nelson County, VA.  Its about half-way between Charlottesville and Staunton kinda near the Blue Ridge Pkwy.  Great brewery and well worth a visit.
