So now they're saying Peavy to the White Sox.  There's a rumor of Halladay to the Angels too...  Seriously?

As long as the paperwork is in the commish's office by 4:00 p.m. they're all official.  It may take a couple of hours to get all the trade reports out.

Don't shoot the messenger!  MLB.com has a link to the MLB Network report.  Rolen to Reds is another.  But then again, he may be traded to Toronto?

Couple of low pitchers, one of which had Tommy John not that long ago.

Just to update… The Cincinnati Reds have traded for Toronto third baseman Scott Rolen, who must still approve the trade before its finalized, Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated is reporting via Twitter. In return, the Reds will send third baseman Edwin Encarnacion and 2008 first-round pick Yonder Alonso, a first baseman, to Toronto, according to foxsports.com.

Wow. GREAT trade for the Blue Jays (if Rolen approves it).

Encarnacion is a bum but I can't believe they gave up Alonso.

for Scott Rolen?

what are the Reds doing? they are way out of contention.

The Reds are getting, Encarnacion, Josh Roenicke and Zach Stewart. No Alonso for them.

I still think the Blue Jays got the better end. Encarnacion had a solid season last year.

The Reds had a gaping hole at 3B and they must think they can contend next year.  They must have thought they had a better chance to get someone now than in the offseason so they pulled the trigger instead of waiting til November.

PEAVY TO WHITESOX CONFIRMED.

Puzzling because he rejected them earlier. Must have playoff fever.

It's not just a rental. He still has 3+ years left on his contract.

Puzzling because he rejected them earlier. Must have playoff fever.

Look at who's left on their roster. I think that's why he accepted it.
