Nobody on this team can hit a breaking ball.

jeez, the offense really took a crap tonight. Hope to see Tyler Moore and a new catcher tomorrow vs Randy Wolf.

I ask Jobu to come.  Take fear from bats.

No Bob.   They're leading by six runs.  They have no need or desire to try to work Rodriguez.

Zim's shoulder is definitely hurting. The last two nights he has looked just like he did before the shot. Late on fastballs and guessing and taking breaking balls for strikes rather than putting the ball into play.

If any gameday thread can end a winning streak, this is it.

I blame the girly OP.

Hard to disagree.

This one stings.  It was a bad loss to a very bad team.

Nah, it doesn't sting at all.  Kid on the mound for the Brewers pitched well and they had lost 7 straight or something like that.  Somebody had to be tasked to stop the bleeding and even though he doesn't have incredible velocity, he was pretty awesome with command.  Kept the fastball happy Nats off the bases.  Ross pitched poorly and Stammen couldn't limit the damage and that was that.

Braves are still 4 behind.  Nats showed before that they just don't turn over and die.  JZimm is a much better pitcher than Det, but he should keep the ball down tomorrow since this is a good hitters park.

Of course, the offense scored nothing so I can't blame the pitching.  Not only did they not score, they got ONE runner to third, all game!

You can blame the pitching, they gave up 6 runs.  that's not good.  Fortunately, it hasn't happened often.  The bats will bounce back.

I have a rule that I don't blame the pitching if the offense doesn't score at least 3 runs.  If they win 6-3, then we can blame the pitching but when the offense scores zero runs, I can't look past that.

They had 27 outs to get a runner across the plate and couldn't do it.  Got ONE runner to 3rd base!

That's fair.  Bad night all around.  JZim will get 'em tomorrow.

I know sarcasm when I see it :) hey we had a HORRIFYING loss to the Braves and we bounced RIGHT back. And if a freaking thread is throwing a team off balance then maybe they should ban acessing wnff from any player's device

Err... We've had an influx of newbies attached to a winning team. Friday night, amidst a 6 game streak, and playoff almost a certainty. Ten pages? Whoa. I don't see how we get so many newbs, are so good, and the GDT gets emptier as time goes on. For an away game to boot. Home game, I'd get it, everyone's at the park. Bizarre how few posts tonight.

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Wednesday 27th July 2005 saw the Nats drop the second of a three-match series at Atlanta, 4-3...starring Jeff Francoeur, a noted tormentor from the Nats' early years...record now 55-46...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250727115.

---

Very disappointing result yesterday, although I'm actually a bit surprised the Nats didn't have their let-down Thursday after making such short work of the Mets (finally beating Dickey!)...I suppose too that the Brewers players were relieved to finally have the Greinke soap opera behind them (the story broke a few hours before first pitch) and may have played with a bit more jump as a result (and that pitcher who started yesterday, though a bit of a late bloomer, is supposed to be very promising)...let's hope JZimm brings us a win in front of his homefolks.
