Gameday Thread: Nationals @ Mets, Game 1
« Topic Start: August 19, 2005, 06:12:42 PM »
Nationals (64-57)

John Patterson, RHP (7-3, 2.44)

Patterson is looking to win his fourth consecutive decision as he faces New York for the third time this season. Patterson has yet to pick up a decision against the Mets, but he has given up five runs in 12 innings against them. In his last start, Patterson pitched eight solid innings, giving up one run on nine hits as the Nationals pounded the Rockies, 9-2.

Mets (61-59)

Jae Seo, RHP (4-1, 1.35)

Friday's start offers Seo an opportunity to enact a measure of revenge at the club responsible for the lone blemish on his spectacular -- albeit limited -- 2005 Major League resume. The Nationals handed Seo a loss on April 29, tagging him for three runs on three hits over five innings. He was stellar in his subsequent outing before being shipped to Triple-A. And he picked up where he left off since returning to the Mets on Aug. 6, allowing just one run on nine hits over 15 1/3 innings in victories over the Cubs and Dodgers.

There is a storm cell moving East towards NYC.  Expect a rain delay either before or during the game...but I don't predict a postponement.

Looks like they're not very afraid of Guillen.  I hope he makes them pay for it.

Speaking of streaks, does anyone know when the last time Wilkerson DID NOT strike out in a game was?

What are your guys thoughts on Wilson? Do you think, he was a good acquisition? I think, he isn't the big bat we were lookin but he's decent.

BTW, the phillies are trailing 4-0 and guess who homered? Pitcher Kip Wells!!

Common Carroll.Ugh he struck out.Now Patterson.

He's been decent lately, but I don't know if I'd go so far as giving him a general "decent".  I'm not making my mind up on him until season's over, but by then he will be gone, so it won't matter.

By the time you go through your entire batting order, you should have at least one run.

We don't.

...of course, they don't either.
