Nationals (62-55)

Livan Hernandez, RHP (13-5, 3.51)

After a run in which he gave up three earned runs or less in 18 of 19 starts, Hernandez has struggled in August, yielding four and five earned runs in his two starts this month and lasting less than seven innings in each for the first time since June 14. He has won only once in his seven starts since July 6.

Phillies (63-55)

Brett Myers, RHP (10-5, 3.46)

After going 4-1 with a 3.32 ERA in July, Myers has stumbled in August. The righty has allowed nine in his previous two starts, spanning 13 1/3 innings.

This is a must-win, if not must-sweep series for the Nationals.

Phillies are playing as well as anyone recently.

2-2 would not be a disaster, but 3-1 would be excellent!

IF Livan can return to form, our chances are good.  If he pitches like his last few outings, they could rack up lots of runs in that ballpark.

our offense just goes from one bandbox to another.

this should be a high-scoring series in that little league park in Philly.

let's hope our boys bring out the big sticks.

Guillen singles!

An auspicious beginning.  Let's hope Preston "K" Wilson fails to live up to his reputation.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS.  PRESTON WILSON HOMERS.

3-0 NATS.  All runs with 2 outs.

My dear.  Could we really be on the verge of making a run?

Well, if Wilson hits a home run, that's got to be good karma.

Keep it up!

Let's just hope Livan doesn't give these runs back in the next few innings.

A 29 pitch inning for Myers.  Add that to the 3 runs and it's about as good as it can get!

I spent the whole game until now trying to get decent reception, so I missed both HRs.  :(

Dammit, I've got to go fiddle with it again.  Is anyone else getting really crap reception tonight?  Worse than usual, I mean?

Yeah: it's wedged between WGMS and some other station, and WMZQ comes on top of it sometimes.  I'm scared to try another station because I'm not sure I'll be able to find 104 again, but I'm willing to try now.  What's the AM station?

Well let's hope our bats stay hot, because it doesn't look like our starting pitching is going to help us any today

DAMN!  Two runs, Guillen hurt :(

edit: Although I can't believe how he's been playing with his throwing shoulder all screwed up.  I think I'd die if I had to play with that pain
