I'm counting on a bunch of sth's reselling and driving down prices to nearly face for cheap bastards like me who are willing to last minute it. I can't see them dropping below face since, in that case, I think most sellers would just keep the tickets and go to the game unless they are seriously over extended and just have to cut their losses

Yep. That's the reselling game in a nutshell. Maybe your're right but maybe you're not. I can also see them going above face value, especially the first game of any series.

That's why I have $2m in life insurance.

Not sure how that pays the bills. While you're alive, that is.

It doesn't and that wasn't the point.

My goal is to take my daughter to one game per series (she's 20 months old)- she wont make it through the whole game, but I want her to have the memory (actually pictures since I doubt she'll remember), so I really don't care about seat location, and I'm willing to go to any game in a series

The real question is can I do it for less than a grand since anymore and my wife will start protesting that it's too much for five innings of baseball

Smart woman that wife of yours. It's a good question even if you were able to stay for the whole game.

I'm just not a big believer in paying big bucks for games, concerts, etc. It just doesn't feel right to me, for whatever reason. Maybe because I don't have money to throw around but I doubt it.

That is smart. If the Nats do qualify for post-season this year, we supporters need to make the most of it right here and now - who knows when we'll have another chance?

What Cubs supporter, attending the 1945 World Series, would have though that it would be at least 67 years before the Northsiders would see another Series, and 39 before they would even see post-season play of any sort?

Opportunity often knocks but once.

FULL Season ticket holders since 05
HALF SINCE 05
PARTIAL SINCE 05

The rest follow.

My friend who now works Part time at Giant (and has eorked for Giant for over 20 years both full and part time) has a better contract as far as overtime pay then those who came recently after.

She gets (I believe) time and a half for Sundays and holidays while new contract people only get a dollar more.

It does get my Dander up because thats why Ive kept my season tickets uninterrupted since 05!  Even through almost a year of unemployment in the hopes that steady longevity counts for something!

Not sure how Giant employment policies factor into this case, but I really do think that you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you think that longevity will be a major factor in playoff ticket priority.  In the end you'll be able to buy tickets, just for more money than you may want to pay and for downgraded seats from your regular spot.  Guaranteed that however the team handles the playoff ticket prices that a large percentage of STHers end up pissed off.  I'm just counting on getting in the door for each of the games and avoiding the 400 level and the 100s near the foul poles and I'll be happy.

At the prices that are sure to be charged for these games I really don't see the resale market going much above face value, while demand will keep ticket prices from bottoming out.  I'd guess that StubHub buyers will pay above face and sellers will be paid less than face as the fees wipe out any possible profit margins.

Mlb sets ticket prices.

I dont care if I sit in 300s or not.  I just think that longevity sbould be figured in between those that are guaranteed A SEAT and not be put in some Dumb@$$ lottery.

My Giant emplyment example is for the longer youve been in an organization you get better benefits.

Fine let all Year Season ticket holders have their seats!  After that its starts in 2005 1/2 season and partial seasons.  If they run out of tickets before they get to people who just got partial season tickets this year!  SO BE IT!

A guy on Twitter just asked a good question about whether it is too late to buy a partial plan in order to "get the inside track on playoff tickets".  I think that this would work.  After next week the Abe plan will only have six games left, so a purchase of a $10 plan will cost about $80, which would be a great deal if this gets you into the presale pool.

Hold on a second. How many of the benefits would you get? This seems like a heck of a lopphole.

That's what I'm wondering, if you're not currently a plan holder and you want playoff tickets I'd give them a call.

I already have my own 224U seats on the Sunday plan plus I am part of two other groups. I didn't realize they continued selling the prorated plans. If this includes some of the other perk items I might get a couple more seats on one of the other partial plans.

I want to go to one game per series, upper deck, and pay less than $100 - I think that's pretty fair for 7 years of crap baseball.

2012 MLB Playoff Schedule

There has been significant discussion regarding the 2012 MLB Playoff schedule due to the possibility of there being a second wildcard team added to the mix for the postseason. We’ll know prior to the kickoff of the 2012 MLB season; however, for now the following draft schedule includes the notional dates for the Playoffs based on a one game playoff between the Wildcard Teams for each league. As more information is made available to include times, dates, and broadcast network(s), the schedule will be revised.

If the ratings are higher for the Skins than for a Nats playoff game then the local media should spend more time on the football team.

Congrats!

Damn shame you're going to miss the playoffs for your honeymoon, though.  Ought to put you squarely in the "save Strasburg for next season" camp.
