did Hill go to the pen to complete 35 pitches or did they shut him down completely (to be cautious)?
Sounds like he went directly to surgery. Seriously the way they talked I was led to believe he was shut down for the day.
what? I thought he was only slated for 1 inning anyways?
They talked as if they expected him to maybe go 2 innings but after 14 pitches they shut him down for the day and called it a positive first outing. We'll see how he feels tomorrow.
* Shawn Hill takes the mound today for the Nationals. The team plans to take a cautious approach with its right-hander, who missed more than half of the 2008 season with elbow and forearm injuries. Today, Hill will throw just one inning, a departure from the programs Washington prescribed for its previous starters, John Lannan and Collin Balester, both of whom went two in their Grapefruit League debuts. "We're going to baby him," Manager Manny Acta said.
