I just hope they make a permanent switch to birch soon so we can stop having to hear Bob Carpenter whine about maple bats.

haha I am with you here!

ugh. kind of a disappointing home start for the Nats new AAA team. I still think they'll be a good team but not the start they wanted.

I know that Stan promised the Syracuse guys a good team so hopefully they deliver.

It is kind of sad to see Balestar get knocked around by the Red Wings, apparently they only have one or two guys that have played above AA.

I can't listen to the Chiefs game anymore, their pitchers are getting hit harder the than the big league Nats.  Josh Towers lets up 4 ER in 1.2 innings (apparently is injured too).  The lineup is decent, but the pitching is not cutting it.  Hopefully some call-ups will remedy that as the season progresses.

wow you might be right, ronny. This Syracuse team has no pitching.

Bally got bombed: 4 IP 4 H 5 R 5 ER 2 BB 3 K 2 HBP

Then Towers came in and did the same thing: 1.2 IP 6 H 4 R 4 ER 0 BB 0 K

Tonight we have:
Harrisburg (Cory VanAllen) vs Reading (Joe Savery)
Potomac (Will Atwood) vs Lynchburg (Justin Wilson)
Hagerstown (Jack McGeary) vs Lake County (T.J. House)

Marrero can flat out hit, there has never been any doubt about that.  In fact, he is a real clutch hitter, but his main weaknesses lie in his strikeouts and playing defense.  Hopefully he shows that he has improved in both and, if he does, he will surely shoot up the chain.

Hopefully we get a Ryan Braun-type player with the 10th pick this year. That'd be nice.

The defense certainly didn't help.  Marrero, Souza, and Burgess all made mistakes, even if they aren't credited with errors.

Espinosa beaned for the second game in a row (sounds like he is in some pain), bases now loaded for BURGESS!

UPDATE: fielder's choice, RBI for Burgess, but he is out at first, runners advance.

Probably, but I believe. :D  I was scouted by SDSU when I was a freshman. Then a whole bunch of crap happened. I could hit and I had a gun, but I had a pretty bad attitude problem (believe it or not).

I have really high hopes for Espinosa, I think he could be in our lineup by September of next year.

Sounds plausible to me.  From what I have heard about him, he is an extra hard worker with a good bat, a great eye, and deceptive speed.  He is also a pretty good SS.

yep. he doesn't have a lot of power but he does everything else really well.

I'm not giving up on Desmond yet though.
