The Supreme Court used to be a good place to take cover from thunderstorms on the way back to Union Station.  It's probably not allowed now (or you have to step over someone's stem cell vigil).

Check this link from JD Land; for me, I like the lot that shows on the map at Half and M streets SW--just west of the 7-Eleven.  Helps to avoid the post game mess at Capitol street.  It shows on the map as $25 but I have paid $20 this year--usually more on weekends and for the better teams so not sure how much tonight.

Thanks. Anyone ever used the "unofficial" lots? Safe and gtg?

I use the $10 lot under 295 most nights, no problem, safe and a security guard on duty, never had a problem.
I use the $25 lot (most days it's $20) on the corner of M and Half St SouthEAST and also find it safe

i used to park at the Yards lot across from the RF exit until they jacked the price up to $35.  Like I posted earlier, we park in the $20 lot now diagonally across from the home plate gate, it's a bit spooky walking back there at night, but no problems (so far).

Your lot is $15 if purchased via Spothero in advance.

I hate how much they've jacked up those prices. I loved parking at The Yards lot.

There is a free place to park for night games and Sundays, doodz. It gets closer and closer to filling up, but I can share through PM for anyone unaware  :mg:

the best part of parking at the Yards lot was leaving.  We would exit and go around the back of the stadium, passing the players lot.  Numerous times players pulled up next to us as we were stuck in traffic.

"Best" and "stuck in traffic" don't seem to jive...

Yep, except I never really experienced the traffic. We usually would just head towards the National Harbor and be home free.

it was kind of cool sitting in a jam with Ryan Zimmerman in the car next to you, and JZ in the car in front of him.  at various times we saw LaRoche, Lannan, and Miguel Batista.  RZ of course had a Mercedes.  JZ had a pickup,  the others had SUVs.

News4 reports that parking meters will NOT be enforced for tomorrow's game. On your mark...

Most people don't "tailgate" anyway?  I love how the media likes to make news out of something that shouldn't be.

We tried to find people to tailgate with last weekend but we ended up down by the river opening some damn amazing beers by ourselves.  There is a history of drinking beer  before games and hope the Nats recognize and welcome it.

There were a lot of tailgaters at RFK.  Nats Park is great but it can't match the fun of grilling in lot 8.

That article also overlooks the fact that there are plenty of parking lots not controlled by the Nationals that still allow tailgating, even grilling.
