i broke down and bought tickets tonight,  I'm not going to sweat the autograph vouchers, we usually go to a few sunday games a year and get there early enough for sessions.

we saw him in a rehab game in 2011 at Potomac and he signed autographs for a long time.  I recall that when he's on the minor league roster he's obligated to sign, but he did spend a good 10-15 minutes after warmups signing and talking to the fans.

He's allowed to sign at games, but not any other events per his contract.

...  or the motorcycle show as well.    I'm not much of a crowd person    ...   at all.     However, I've found that the crowd can be the show.    Helps take the edge off.     The good news is there are a lot of nice bars/restaurants within easy walking distance of the Convention Center.   :)

Funny that Lerner seems to have forgotten this line of reasoning from when he cancelled FanFest back in 2011 now that the Nats are charging $20 a pop for autographs from an unnamed list of players.

Quote
Lerner said ensuring that all players, including marquee minor leagues like Bryce Harper, would be able to participate was the most important factor in deciding to hold NatsFest the day before opening day.

“First of all, in the winter time you don’t know who you’re going to get,” Lerner said. Players are “at vacations, or this or that”

Ha.  Yeah that was weird.  Alphabetical order and then Dukes slipped in.  If it wasn't you trolling us it might have been someone on the Nats' staff or whoever published the notice.

There will be no autograph lines, I don't know why they continue to advertise this, they sold all autograph vouchers within 30 minutes of offering them on line, they aren't gonna sell any more, why do they continue to try to get people to come when the autograph events will be closed to most participants????

Will the rest of us get a glimpse or will they curtain them off?

Apparently the FO is too busy with this to release the game times or details on the Red Carpets Rewards program.

And as long as I'm kvetching, the convention center has not appeal for me whatsoever.  Thought I probably would go if I diidn't have a conflict.

Zimmerman, as mentioned, has good reason for not showing up due to honeymoon funtimes. Besides, even if he did come, his retarded autograph exclusivity deal means he wouldn't be signing autographs. But I find it curious that Harper will be there and Strasburg won't. Has any reason been offered/speculation as to why not? Not to beat a dead and decayed horse, but I wonder if he still is sore over being shut down and missing the playoffs.

Anyway, reason I popped into the thread... I'm considering going now when I'd planned to skip it ever since it was announced and vouchers vanished in minutes. The only way I'd go is with said voucher, however. So is there any bulk selling of these by scalper or whatnot? I'm sure they can't be bought on Stubhub, but even at a decent markup I'd consider buying. Going to it without any possibility of signatures... Too much of a headache getting there/crowds just to walk around for a couple hours.

Yeah me too, would love to know how and where to buy a voucher.

Also, a trophy room? What trophies? Individual player ones?

Strasburg organizes a 5K back in San Diego. Given how the Nats front office is, I'm sure that Stras had the date for his 5k set before the Nats settled on a date for the Nats Fest.

The third annual Stephen Strasburg 5K Walk & Fun Run will be held on Saturday, January 26 at Tony Gwynn Stadium at San Diego State University. The event, fundraiser to benefit the Aztec baseball program, will feature the former Aztec All-American pitcher along with SDSU Head Coach Tony Gwynn and current players in attendance.

That's where the player's wives will be.
