Blog Latherspoon is a moron.  They introduced Haren and Span and he asked the dumbest questions.  He questioned Haren's health and Haren shot back, saying he has only missed two starts in ten years

Got up, got dressed and decided to stay home.   When I saw CAL's note on single tracking on the Orange line (doesn't matter where), that tipped the balance.    I gotta drive 12 miles to get to the Orange Line (used to have parking downtown before the lay off  :icon_frown:).     Hope to see reviews on the outing.

Espy reports he tore his rotator cuff late in the season. No surgery, just rehab.

so that explains some stuff.

BTW - Am I the only guy who hates players hiding injuries when they have a competent back up?  I know the phrase "getting Wally Pipped" is a huge fear, but whatever happened to "all I care about is the team winning?"

You got that right. As I recall he was pretty bad down the stretch.

Well, if Davey didn't know, that's bad, and if Davey knew, that might be worse.

Last year. his OPS bottomed at .517 on May 8.  It got up to .738 on July 25, dipped, and peaked at .745 on 9/6.  It ended the year at .717, which tells you that his last 24 games were bad enough to poison the first 136 enough to drop .028 OPS points.  I'm not going to do a calculation for that last stretch.

106.7 FM is on the 3rd floor.  They asked Lombardozzi (of Howard County, MD) how the Nationals could cut down on strikeouts.  I thought he'd say "Start me over Espinosa" but he did not.

Now interviewing pitcher Christian Garcia

QA with Harper, werth, tmo and Garcia was worth the price of admission. Lots of morse stories, it's obvious the players are going to miss him.  My son shook hands with Harper afterward.  He stuck around and signed a bunch of stuff.

Pain the ass, but I'm glad to hear it had such a strong turnout.
