Salvation. A fleet of bucket trucks from Florida Power and Electric came and fixed the power lines on my street. I'm consuming energy like a coal industry lobbyist tonight. If it has a switch, it's on. If it can be turned up, it is.

Nuke it, A/C it, turn on the PC's/laptops/pad, etc.

AtBC says he just about kissed a big swarthy latino guy with a bushy mustache on the lips after he showed up in a bucket truck after Hurricane Andrew. They didn't have power for weeks.

Just had a nasty ass storm roll through. Not a lot of seriously strong wind but it was windy. Lightening was crazy though

The first truck arrived and the guy looked around and said "how do you ever have power on this street?" Here's the sight that made me giggle like a school girl.

There's lots of leafy green in Gaithersburg. Have you only driven up 355? ;)

Oh please.  I've only driven down 270 a few times, only to go to the Apple Store at Montgomery Mall :P

For anyone heading out to KC for the All-Star festivities, weather.com is currently calling for high of 88, low of 69, no precip for both Monday and Tuesday. (Stay out of there today and tomorrow though - 103 expected both days.)

While that sounds like great weather, you'll still be in Kansas crappy and nobody wants that.

Unless of course you're in Kansas City and happen to like BBQ. Or a host of other things that KC offers.

I hope to bring cool weather back with me tomorrow from Boston when I return.  It was 85 degrees with dew points in the 60s friday and people were :panic:

Back from a July 4 vacation. Power was still out when I left on the 4th, and is out (again, not still) when I got home today. Well done, Dominion.

My grandma always called it tonic. We just say soda or Coke/Pepsi/Mt. Dew whatever brand it is.

A cousin of my mom's was at our house. She asked me and my friend that were in 8th grade at the time if we wanted some pop. We thought she said 'pot' and totally freaked out because here's this old lady asking us if we wanted pot.

Feels fantastic.

Of course FiOS is down, so I'll probably miss most of the ASG festivities.
