What does a slap bet have  to do with a cage? I nominate myself as Slap Bet Commissioner

I was thinking cage match slap down.

Holy crap, Thom and Sheehin are basically admitting that RGIII was a mistake- both say that they would prefer to have wilson (third round) or kapernick (second round) than Griffen (3 number 1s and a 2) That happend faster than I expected

They are idiots.  Even if the draft where held again today, the top two would go exactly as they did last year.  RGIII has turned around the D.C. franchise and will be an impact player for years to come.

similar numbers to wilson and all it cost was an extra three first rounders. When hall (worst coverage corner in football) comes back, or random guy starts at safety, or Polumbus is the starting RT, next year, two of the first round picks we gave up could have been used to fill holes. Griffen may be better (I think he is), but the cost to get him is starting to look ridiculous

Hindsight is convenient.  I'm sure Redskins fans would be happy with Brandon Ween right now.

it is convenient- it's how we judge. Different teams made different decisions about how certain players would preform, as data about how they actually preformed becomes available (i.e. hindsight) you can look back and judge those decisions. Do you have an alternative?

Well... they didn't end up with that conclusion. They used the typical sports talkers' trick of overstating a case, then coming back around.

the amount of time until my blue tooth syned and my audio book started wasn't long enough to hear the conclusion

Maybe he, Sam Bradford, and Vince Young can get together and talk about the glory days of the Big 12 now.

Just the main one (which I assume RG3 will win as well), but they are both Big 12 alumni.

Obviously the amount given up is going to suck when the drafts come around... but it was clearly the right choice. I doubt Wilson, Kaepernick, or any of the other guys we should've selected will be as consistent as RGIII will be.

Sure. But any one of them could've been in this situation. I'd still take him next year over the other two after what he did this season.

I'll take them since there is a much better chance of them being 100% for the whole season.

True. But I still think a month or two of Kirk Cousins as a fill in is the better option.

In a similar situation, sort of, would you take Chris Sale (or any other successful young starter) for a year over a rehabbing Stephen Strasburg?

And the way I'm looking at it is for the entire career rather than just one season.

Capernick may turn bust, but wilson looks like a slightly shorter RG3 to me, and I'd rather shorter (RG3 isn't exactly towering either) plus a legitimate RT or corner or safety, or all of the above by the time we start getting first round picks back

I would take three first round picks plus Sale for Strasburg
