Estes' ERA jumped from 1.99 to 3.38 thanks to Flores.

I don't think it'd be too hard to trade him, though. Yes, we'd have to showcase him, but it'd be worth it for what we could get in return. A good contact hitting catcher is still a rarity.
He's got nothing left in the tank. No one wants a .200 hitting catcher with no power and no arm.

Right. A healthy LoDuca will be seen as a value to some contender. The whole point is to eat the trade the veteran, eat the salary, and get something of value in return that you can't simply buy on the open market.

I understand Lopez is sucking, but I just don't know how some of you can tell it's due to off field problems.

The fact that Flores did that on a two strike pitch says a lot about him. That dude's impressed the hell out of me this season.
I just saw the clip. He DESTROYED that ball - what a beautiful swing and a lofty trajectory. Lovely lovely lovely. :)

2 hits off Odalis so far!!

It's just a guess but he looks like he did last year when he struggled due to mysterious "off the field problems".  Earlier this season he seemed to have turned the corner. He was having fun out there and playing well.  It just feels like he is going through the motions out there again because his head is elsewhere.

I could see him getting into coaching if he wanted to, just a feeling.
In his broadcast debut last weekend, Lo Duca was asked by Holliday if he'd be interested in managing.  Lo Duca immediately responded, in the same pleasant tone that we hear now, "I'd get thrown out of so many games in my first year that I'd break Bobby Cox' record for getting thrown out of games."

This guy was MADE for broadcasting.

Any other team would have scored at least 3 or 4 today off Perez.

I've been saying this since we signed him: what he lacks in baseball skills he more than makes up for in entertainment value and mic skills.

He wouldn't be pitching to contact like this against most other teams.

broken bat RBI single of course. That's what happens when you get effed in the ass by the ump.
