Can't tell what he hurt on that play. But his lack of range really hurt him there... causing him to dive.

Fractured ankle, three-month recovery.  He's done for this postseason.

I'm not buying it. Fractured pride due to having to dive for a ball most SS's get to easily.

Seriously though... that sucks for him.

His ankle has been injured, the injury tonight just made it unplayable. Guy is a tank.

Not to mention he barely dove but rather got the ball and stumbled to the ground.

It's all Valverde's fault

He was awful again but they had enough of a cushion to withstand the 4 run blow and still have a chance to rectify the freak up. And they did.

Drew Storen sent him a death threat via twitter last night.

I was talking about Jeter's ankle. Valverde closes the game and Jeter doesn't get hurt.

Just a thought...If Detroit and St. Louis make it all way to the World Series, that would be two 88-win teams facing each other.

Winning a pennant means something, but it doesn't mean you are going to win the tourney. :(

Not seeing why the Tigers should be penalized for winning their division.

Turned it on, saw the score, changed the channel.  I had FOX on earlier before the game started and their opening piece made me want to puke.  And Tim McCarver needs to be put out to pasture.

If you played a drinking game where you take a drink for every time Friday's game is mentioned, you'd already be dead from alcohol poisoning.

Jesus, I just flipped it on for a sec (commercial break on another channel), Cardinals up 6-0 and Joe Buck goes into how that was the same score on Friday night.  Gotta keep resisting the urge to tune in.
