Really no need

Rain Delay?

And there's always Bowie's Diamond Dogs

And yet, I'm still willing to bet "Who Let the Dogs Out" is the front runner.

As someone who lived in Loudoun County from 1988 (the year I was born) until the end of last year I think it's pretty neat that they are getting a baseball team.  Should be fun.

Hounds announce that Frank Howard has joined the team as an ambassador and advisor.  Smart move.

I got a newsletter to that effect as well.  Following in the footsteps of Harmon Killebrew.

According to their website, they have not put a shovel in the dirt yet out there, so, they won't be playing games in Loudoun in 2012. But according to their facebook page, they look forward to "... a 2012 debut -- somewhere."

They finally broke ground today on the Kincora project after a hold-up over who would pay for road upgrades (the developer is footing the bill).

I'm guessing the Hounds won't be playing in Loudoun until 2013.

One authentic, ink-still-wet autograph by baseball legend Frank Howard…for a can of corn.

In baseball, a “can of corn” is an easy fly ball. This holiday season, a can of corn is an easy way to show goodwill toward humankind.

Join the Pack as we visit our friends at the Buffalo Wing Factory & Pub in Ashburn, Dec. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. Give us a can of corn (or 12) and Mr. Howard will give you his autograph.

(Attendee supplies items to be signed. Limit two autographs per attendee. Items subject to approval before signing. Baseball cards, photographs and baseballs preferred.)

While you’re wolfing down those famously hot hot wings, enter to win a 42” LCD TV courtesy of the Buffalo Wing Factory & Pub. Observe the rules at BuffaloWingFactory.com.

An actual autograph actually given to you by the actual Frank Howard. Makes a great gift for even more of that giving spirit.

Damn, I wanted to see the Hounds at the new stadium.   Couldn't watch HRod again (unless he was on the opposition).

things aren't looking real good.  The head of the team just stepped down and Atlantic Coast League is moving on, at least for 2014, without the Hounds.  There hasn't been any progress on the stadium since the Kincora development stalled and they announced plans to move to One Loudoun.

Wasn't there a plan for a minor league ballpark...not long ago...in Sterling...just down the street from the old Heckler & Koch headquarters?

First one I heard about was just across 28 (Leesburg side) in aforementioned Kincora site.    It was a Sterling zip code.
