Now THAT'S typical Nationals baseball.  Runner at 3rd with no outs and he doesn't move.

Your "avid nats fan" reference was just a little non-specific. It was funny.

I think the manager makes the call about whether to walk or pitch around someone. I think these guys know that you don't get Howard out by throwing him meatballs.

Could be St. Claire, could be a not-very-good rotation. Something has to change, though.

Wake up. Randy is a major problem

Can they be any luckier with these ground ball hits? Same crap as last night.

When the offense shows up the pitching sucks. When the pitching is solid the offense blows.

Why can't this happen for us!  There's little skill required for hitting a ground ball where an infielder can't get to it!

Things like that SHOULD happen for the Nationals!

Martis is garbage.  All smoke and mirrors. His ERA will be over 6 soon.

This team has a curse on it. We sold ourselves to the devil for the first half of 2005.

Martis is reminding me of our bullpen right now. Taking forever.

Hamels' change is nasty right now. Unhittable.

Balester and Clippard will probably be up real soon.  McCatty has done a great job with those guys. Martis , J Zimm, Detwiler will need to work with McCatty soon.  All 3 could have over 6 era's pretty quickly if things don't change.
Should McCatty be the pitching coach for the Nationals?  Who knows. However I think it would be wise to bring McCatty up for a month to work with all the pitchers.

Remember last year about the hitting coach situation?

I'm afraid zimmerman is going into one of those massive slumps and everyone is going  to be yelling "YOU SUCK!" for the next month or two. he seems to be getting colder with each at bat.

Balester will not fare any different than the pitchers we have up here already.

A pitching coach change is badly needed though.

I would actually like to see that. I think the nationals need to be trying different things right now to see if it works.
