not to get all LAC about it, because I think the call is merited, but he does not gain time towards arb and free agency.  I think Blue pointed out that he's not going to be a super 2 because he has been in the minors too long this year.

I think when he was sent down, best case for him and the team might be that he plays well enough in Syracuse to restore his trade value so he can be traded to a team that will use him at SS.  that did not happen, so no parole.

Krol, Leon, and Erik Davis so far.  The others will probably join on Tuesday after the Chiefs' season ends or in a week or so when the Senators finish their playoff run.

Erik Davis, Ian Krol, Sandy Leon are the Nats' first call-ups.

Glad Krol is back. Not sure why Davis and Leon are there other than the Nats had to.

Karns slated for the AFL?

Harrisburg is in the playoffs so calling up Leon leaves them with just one catcher.  That doesn't make sense.

Syracuse just loaned Harrisburg a catcher for the rest of the season.  Karns has a reasonable chance of being called up after the Senators' postseason ends.  He isn't heading back to the AFL.

Does that mean the Nats have both Leon and Solanno? Since neither can hit, why have both?

Solano: .250 average in 72 ABs.
Leon: .267 average in 30 ABs.

Not that either is great, and I don't follow minor-league stats, but why not? Not like Suzuki was hitting so great either, and now's the time to find out minor-leaguers' stuff. If not now, never, I guess.

They don't have the ABs or experience to say either way for them. Give it to them and give them the chance to let you down.

Also, 3 catchers let's you pinch hit with Ramos when he is out of the line up, and let's you PH for the Leon or Solano when it is late and close behind.

Nope.  There were only 38 players on the 40-man.  His contract was selected today.
