When that webgem comes up on Baseball Tonight, it will be accompanied by a snide remark about how bad the Nationals are.

Wow what a catch!  Forget anyone else in Center, neither of the other options would have made that catch.

A pinch low maybe. Will be a strike later in the night.

1-2 pitch wasn't a good one, but I'll take the out.
it was right in the middle of the strike zone. pitch #3:

It will be, but I'm saying when Guz's came up as a webgem last night, it wasn't accompanied with a snide remark about the Nats.

Gotcha. I mean I thought it was a strike. I was trying to guess where the umpire saw it.

What's the record for consecutive games on base?

It's at least 56.  8)

he probably blinked or something and just guessed because that pitch was perfect. MLB umpires are the worst in all of sports. Strike zones should be 100% automated.

Consecutive games reaching base (official) (only includes outcomes that increase on-base percentage: base hit, walk, or hit-by-pitch)

    * 84 - Ted Williams, Boston Red Sox - July 1 through September 27, 1949

Score dammit!

I have a new guiding principle.  If the offense doesn't score at least 4 runs then I can't blame the pitching if we lose.  From 4 runs on, the pitching is open for blame.

yep, that ruined the whole inning. Bard with the one pitch weak grounder was equally pathetic.
