LOL...I'm glad someone else picked up on that. :D

The ironic part is, in RFK, that ball would have been a double.

No, just a lot of screaming. I could hear Sweet Caroline earlier, though.  :|

Now that the game is over, I'm GLAD Lo Duca missed that pitch. :D

I missed the first 8 innings. Why was Perez pulled so early after only 70 pitches? And how did he look?

Looked very good; Manny probably wants to keep pitch counts down because of the four-man rotation we're supposedly going with until Hill pitches April 13th (my 28th :))

He was due up in the bottom of that inning.  I would assume that Acta didn't really want him throwing many more than 80 pitches, anyway.  He looked pretty good, though.  He got into a bit of trouble in the first, nibbling a bit here and there, but he was generally quite efficient and effective.

Also, the Mets offense gets to start their season vs. Mark Hendrickson

Well, he definitely deserves his props for not only pitching well after a couple of bad seasons, but also for doing it under all of the pressure of pitching the first game for us. That's awesome. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he continued to be solid for us.

Marlins have Hermida, Hanley, Willingham, and Ross (who was good in limited time last year), so it's not a total gimme.  I think David Wright, Reyes, and all of the Mets hitters are the truly lucky ones, as they get to face whatever scrub the Marlins put out there. (Isn't it Hendrickson?  Help me out here, NatsAddict.  I know how much you love this subject matter. )
