CB Jonathan Joseph signs with Houston. That makes Asomugha joining the Jets a stronger possibility.

freak you philosophy? The only thing vaguely constituting an F U team was 07? If we didn't choke in 06 against the Colts, we woulda beaten the Bears easily, and the Pats beat the Giants 9 times out of 10. Now my point is not to make excuses for the Pats, because they lost those, and the Colts and Giants deserve their rings. Rather, my point is that the Pats did not lose those games because of a freak you philosophy. They lost because they didn't play as well as the other team. But they could have easily won both.

They've abandoned the philosophy that won them 3 titles. The 07 Pats were the biggest freak you to the rest of the league in history. They've gone from blue collar to Hollywood and look at the results.

The Pats LOST those games. The Steelers could have easily won the last SB too. BFD.

This we can agree on. Asomugha to the Jets will make Jets fans even more awful than they are now. Oh God, the horror. It will be bad.

The Steelers should sign him just so I can troll them.

Even though I'm a Bills fan... I wanted to 07 team to roll the Giants... just so the freaking Dolphins would shut the freak up.

I really hope Asomugha doesn't go to the Jets.

Never fear though, Dan Snyder is here to snatch for four times the market price.

I think you misunderstand my point. I heartily acknowledge that they lost those games. I'm not whining or complaining. Rather, your assertion is that since they've gone Hollywood, they haven't been able to win. Now if they were a 6 win team, I might agree, but they've been very close, and I don't think that Asante Samuel dropping that pick in the Super Bowl was because Tom Brady was getting with Gisele (I'm not even sure if he was with her at the time, but the point stands).

As good as Asomugha has been (best CB in the league IMO, significantly better than Revis), I don't want Snyder to sign him. He's gonna get paid a lot of money, and the way the big signings have gone lately- I'd rather just stay away. Although I'd rather Snyder get him than Philly, Dallas, or NY.

Epic win for Houston and more epic fail by the Bungles. They just let their best player leave.

Bears traded Greg Olsen to the Panthers. If Newton pans out, the Panthers should get much better very quickly.

Freaking Jets are gonna be nasty on defense if they sign Asomugha. I'm not liking this at all.

Doesn't look like the Ravens are going to make any signings. I look for them to do some dumpster diving after all the cuts are made. It's looking more and more like this might be a down year.

Meh, the Ravens have a good coach and enough talent to compete for the AFC North again. Really, it's between the Steelers and Ravens again and neither team is a juggernaut.

Agreed. I think it's gonna be a down year for the AFC North. It will definitely be between Pittsburgh and BMore, but I don't think either one will win the Superbowl. The Patriots and Jets should probably be considered favorites in the AFC. I think the Jets might be held back by their offense though. Course in today's NFL..you never know.

Definitely true that you never know who will explode onto the scene or who will surprise you, good or bad. I'm not expecting much from the Steelers this year. They got really lucky last season. They're due for a bad year.

The Bears just traded their best receiver - TE Greg Olsen.  What idiots.

Martz doesn't use TEs a lot so it's not a terrible move but still.

i remember when the pats were a no-name, scrappy, team-first team in the early 2000s

with their new freak-you philosophy, how many titles have they won since 04? gotta be a lot

Labels are freaking stupid.

This. Martz doesn't know what a TE is. The Panthers are getting better quickly. Not sure how Newton is going to work out for them though. I think he has bust potential.

The Ravens still have issues that have not been addressed thus far. They don't have a pass rush or a receiver that can stretch the field. Torrey Smith was drafted to be our deep threat, but the Ravens have a bad track record when it comes to drafting WR's. Some secondary help wouldn't hurt either. I would like to see them grab ex-49er Nate Clements and then make a trade for Osi Uminyora. There's really no reciever available out there right now that could help this team. We just have to hope that Torrey Smith is the guy.
