Tobacco is the hardest thing I ever quit.     I quit a lot of crap over the years.   MDS nailed it.   DJ is a "junkie".

My cousin had esophogeal cancer and he never used tobacco. It changed his whole life but thank God he's still around. He's not nearly as goofy as he used to be. I really love the guy.

it is depressing to see Davey always with a wad, after all the health issues he's had.

What's depressing about the guy living his life the way he wants?

Isn't DJ a cancer survivor? Why in the freaking freak is he chewing tobacco?

he had a heart stent put in I believe, and almost died from an appendix infection that went undetected until it burst, but I don't think he's ever had cancer.  He mentioned in a recent interview that he is an exercise nut now.

And drink another one for bad grammar.

When my wife and I were 28 or so she quit smoking and I quit chewing, but we vowed that if we hit 65, we'd start again.

It's only 13 years away now...

What's depressing about the guy living his life the way he wants?

Everytime a tobacco user croaks early due to tobacco use, it's sad for someone.  Most of em don't even "want" to, they just don't have the will to overcome the addiction.  I don't know if it's depressing but it's sad and frustrating.

I walked around for like 24 hours with appendicitis and it had ruptured before surgery  -that sucks noodles. With heart problems he shouldn't be using chaw.

My grandfather finally quit cold turkey when the dr said "smoke and you will die" - I like that dr.

Davey had 5 surgeries to get rid of the infection.  He also lost his daughter in her early 30's.  He's been to hell and back.

I never said death was pretty, but it's part of life.  And yes, I have seen two of the closest people in my life die because of cancer.  Another reason I live by the "freak tomorrow, live today" motto.

I think that diabetes might now actually be the leading preventable cause of premature death.

Me too bro.   I quit when they found a growth on my larynx.    It was benign.

Edit:    Let me amend that to state I quit tobacco.   :)
