Same old story.  We make the opposing starting pitcher look god-like on the mound..
Well, Moyer's been around a LONG time and is half decent.  They're trying to win too.  He's at 99 pitches and batting 2nd, so he'll be gone.  We can feast on their bullpen and win that way...

What was wrong w/ it?  I don't recall seeing it so I'm rather curious.

I'm not sure. But see shoeshineboy's post in the MP3 player thread.

Zimmerman will have to be dropped in the lineup soon. He looks awful right now. We can't wait on him forever.

yeah well the only player that doesnt suck at the time is schniederman

so yeah not much we can do they said zimmerman is working on his batting stance they say he needs to spread his legs farther apart b-cuz app. when he was batting really well last year he was more opened which i did see. so he's working out it he is the youngest he is taking a big part. take it easy people

Moyer is going to pitch a complete game shutout against us.. He's only 44 years old..

We only have 2 players that are batting .300 or better.  Young: .302 and Restovich .400 (2/5)

Well what I meant was I wish they would get a hit per game instead of no hits for 4 games followed by 4 hits in one game (or whatever).

They let Moyer bat?  We've seen this before - an old pitcher who does great, but the manager sends him out after 99 pitches.  THIS is where we need to start a rally and rack up the runs.  Moyer IS 44 years old and NOW he's TIRED!  DO It NOW!!!!!!!!!!

We can't have him in the lineup hitting like this, or not hitting, for an extended period of time. I'm not ripping him but even if I were it's OK to do so from time to time. Remember that you called Bergman a wimp, or was it a wuss, last week.

We all had some pretty choice words for Bergmann during a few games last season, if I recall correctly.  Now his starts are like an embarassment of riches ;-)

I think our offense is very consistent... consistently atrocious.  They struggle game in and game out to get hits and score runs, even against bad pitchers.  There may have been a game or two where we actually hit but that's 2 out of 16 games we have played this season which is unacceptable.  I mean, look at Moyer out there absolutely dominating us.  If that's not embarrassing I don't know what is.

had a chance to finally check the progress of the game and I can't believe the way Moyer is just man-handling our offense

This is embarrassing. They get dominated by pitchers regularly. This is what pisses so many people off.

Damn, whatever sportsfan882 has must be contagious.   :)

Most of Moyer's pitches were clocked at 76 mph.  We needed to hit him hard.
This game will disappoint our fans who SKIPPED SCHOOL today....

He is a barometer of how a game is going.  If he has some positive posts, we have a chance to win.  If he has a lot, we are GOING to win.  If they're mostly negative, we have little chance of winning... which is how this game looks now...  and it was winnable, the Phillies aren't that good.

I did the same thing sorta, back in HS.  I went to see Genesis at RFK (I'm pretty sure it was there) back in '87.  Then had to finish writing a gov't paper to turn in the following morn.  I was up til like 3 or 4.  I still got up and went to school, but only lasted til 2nd or 3rd pd. (My gov't class was a before normal school time class - so I lasted through 3 or 4 classes), but called my mom to call in an early dismissal for me.  The saint of a lady did it and I went home and tried to crash until I had to go to work that afternoon.  Boy, I died early that night!

It is embarrassing to get shut out by Moyer at home but at least our bullpen kept the Phils' offense in check and avoided a blowout.
