Nationals vs Phillies, Game 2
« Topic Start: April 19, 2007, 01:08:05 PM »
Thank you Erica's Nats for starting the thread. I hope Erica, that you don't mind my editing your initial post so it has a more Gameday thread look to it. (Kenz aFan)

April 19, 2007 - RFK Stadium, 1:05

Jamie Moyer
1-1, 3.55 ERA

John Patterson
0-2, 7.07 ERA

Jimmy Rollins (SS)
Shane Victorino (RF)
Chase Utley (2B)
Pat Burrell (LF)
Greg Dobbs (1B)
Wes Helms (3B)
Aaron Rowand (CF)
Carlos Ruiz (C)
Jamie Moyer (P)

Felipe Lopez (SS)
Ronnie Belliard (2B)
Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
Dmitri Young (1B)
Austin Kearns (RF)
Ryan Church (CF)
Michael Restovich (LF)
Jesus Flores (C)
John Patterson (P)

_______________________________________ _________

Moyer is coming off two solid starts to begin the season, though he uncharacteristically hit three batters in his outing against the Mets on Thursday. He is making his 16th start against the Expos/Nationals, and is 6-4 with a 3.03 ERA.

Patterson pitched well last time out, holding a powerful Mets lineup to just two runs at Shea Stadium. But his outing was cut short due to cold weather and fatigue, as the right-hander reached only 76 pitches in an eventual no-decision. Patterson is 1-2 in five career starts against Philadelphia, though he hasn't faced them since 2005. Four of those outings occurred that year, and he finished them 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA.

don sutton made a great point on tv. he said that when a #2 hitter is showing bunt, you got to throw strikes. but because he fell behind 3-1, the bunt sign was taken off - and as a result, we have runners on 1 and 3rd, with 2 outs instead of being out of the inning.

I think people always forget when there's a day game during the week.  I know I do.

The New John Patterson cannot seem to get out of the 1st inning without giving up at least one run...
Nationals 0
Phillies 1

The New John Patterson is like the old (last year's) Livan Hernandez or the old Ramon Ortiz or the old Tony Armas...

It's better than fine, good job.  As I mentioned I wasn't even aware that today's game was a day game.  As for gameday moderator 2k6...  I'll give him his lashes when he gets back

hey there all, I'm here and there today.  Dan and Andrew are at today's game.  We had to pull Andrew back out of school.  The chicken pox are going around and if he gets it, it's an automatic week at Hotel Inova Fairfax.

I'm here.  Following the game at work, but I might leave early since I feel like the flu is coming on.

Just got home from classes.. Ugh, JP not looking good again I see.. Down 2-0 already.  I'd say JP is our #4 pitcher and not our ace.

Ugh...

Who would have guessed that John Patterson would be the drag on the starting rotation?
