^ That's awesome. Reminds me of a Nintendo game I used to play.

Also, that picture makes Detwiler look like Michael Cera.

I'd like to point out that Microsoft Paint is an amazingly hard program to edit images in.

For those going tonight:

Looks like no weather-related interference tonight - Yahoo! Weather sees no precip today at all; Post predicts possible spotty thunderstorms for the afternoon but concurs there should be no precip tonight.

If you're taking Metrobus/rail tonight you might want to budget a bit more time going in since the system is on a Saturday schedule today (and, as noted in the lead post, it's an 18.35 first pitch tonight).

why is this game at 635?

Kawakami has allowed 3 earned runs or fewer in 10 straight starts.

He's a solid pitcher.

why is this game at 635?[...]

The is a Friday night match ('Bang! Zoom! Go the Fireworks!) and I suppose they wanted to make sure they could get the fireworks in (just hope the match doesn't go extra innings).

we faced him once this year and he walked 4, gave up 4 hits and 3 earned runs.  we should've destroyed him, but failed to get more runs across the board.

i have a feeling the offday will help us.  (some spent time @ congressional for the AT&T National)

Btw... why the freak is tomorrows game at 1 p.m.?

What's the point of having a July 4 home game if you don't play it at night and then afterwards have fire works?

Whoever made this schedule needs to learn a thing or two about baseball.

You always play a July 4th game at night, it's common sense.

Probably to get the Nats matchgoers home before the REAL crowds start piling into DC for the BIG fireworks display on the mall. To the best of my recollection, whenever we've been home on the Fourth our match has always been in the afternoon.

All of the Nationals games on the fourth have been day games.

yup.

two years ago, matt chico pitched an absolute gem - 7 ip, 4 h, 4 k - and meat hook hit a grand slam (moonshot) and we beat the cubbies 6-0.

I remember that because I was at a BBQ and a (female) friend of mine commented about meathook's tummy jiggling like Santa as he rounded the bags.

Wonder how Guzman will respond to being dropped to sixth in the line up... personally I'd switch him and Bard around.

that's a good spot for him. long overdue.

Guzman should be fortunate he wasn't benched in favor of Gonzalez.

yeah i was telling my dad today they should bump guzman down a bit.  he and johnson were both slumping, but nick at least has good at bats, where guz swings at first pitch.

i like the line-up.

dude guz is still better than gonzalez offensively.  just look at their numbers.  hernandez should be the one worried ... harris/gonzalez should get the ab's now at 2nd.
