Can anyone give me a rundown on Knight? I haven't followed baseball since the 80s until the Nats came to town. Who is he? What are his baseball creds?

Ray Knight is doing the color commentary tonight instead of Don Sutton.  I know DS had been talking about moving to the DC area and kept asking for help.  It might be this weekend, since there's no game Monday.  I didn't hear the email question.  Reyes' WHIP is now 3.000 for this game... as expected.

No he said his move took place during our last home stand. He probably just had the holiday weekend off.

That was a bunch of pitches eaten up for a reliever.

Nevermind. I got off my lazy @ss, opened another browser window and googled him. It's amazing just how lazy I can be.

Decent 3B and solid 270ish hitter for the Reds, Mets(WS MVP if my mind serves me right), Orioles and the Astros. Managed the Reds for a few years.

Thanks, Spidernat. I take it that Bowden fired him in Cinci?

He doesn't put much pace on the ball, but experience has its benefits.

The Post did an article today on what they thought was the reason for all these good pitching performances - Schneider.

That I cannot answer. But the fact that he's here now may indicate they are on good terms so perhaps not.

Well that was long one for Micah. 32 pitches in two innings and 11 of them went to Edmonds on the one AB.

They had an exchange on the pre-game show the other day... the one they did on locatoin in front of RFK. It sounded like it.

I agree with that article.  Schneider's ability to manage a game is invaluable.
